Dendreon Corp.'s board of directors elected John Johnson as president and chief executive officer. Johnson will succeed Mitchell Gold, who has served as president and CEO for nearly a decade. Gold is now executive chairman and will serve until June 30, when he will continue to serve as a director and Johnson will become chairman. Johnson has been a member of Dendreon's board since August of 2011. He has 30 years of experience in the life sciences industry and was president, CEO and director at Savient Pharmaceuticals and president of Eli Lilly's Oncology Business Unit.
Clark Nuber, a Bellevue-based CPA and consulting firm, promoted Dan Wright and Krystyna Fisher. Wright is now a principal and joins the senior management team. Fisher is audit and assurance manager.
FiberCloud, a Seattle-based provider of IT and cloud computing services, hired Jerry Datsko as account manager. FiberCloud has international customers and serves businesses of all sizes. Datsko will help expand the business nationwide. He has 10 years experience in technology.

Fidelma McGinn has joined The Seattle Foundation as vice president of philanthropic services. She was executive director of Artist Trust. McGinn will lead a team of nine who advise donors on strategic philanthropy and will also look for ways to expand the foundation and form partnerships. She has also worked for 911 Media Arts Center and Microsoft.
Rachael Hanks and Suzanne M. Barbour are the first-ever recipients of Les Dames d'Escoffier, Seattle Chapter scholarships at South Seattle Community College. Hanks, 25, is in the Baking and Pastry-Arts Program. Barbour, 49, is in the Wine Technology program. The scholarship honors Seattle Dame Kathleen Desmond Stang, a cookbook author and food writer. Les Dames d'Escoffier is a society of women in food, beverage and hospitality fields.
The Metropolitan King County Council will retain Councilmembers Larry Gossett and Jane Hague as the council's chair and vice chair. They set agendas for meetings, and coordinate referral and scheduling of legislation. The council also formed a new committee: Government Accountability, Oversight and Financial Performance, chaired by Councilmember Bob Ferguson.

Clifton Gunderson and LarsonAllen have become CliftonLarsonAllen. It will offer accounting, tax, audit, outsourcing and wealth advisory services to customers nationwide.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration has cleared Kirkland-based Vioguard's first product, a self-sanitizing computer keyboard, for use in health care settings. A press release for Vioguard says the product is the first FDA-cleared computer keyboard to use germicidal ultraviolet light to automatically clean its surfaces. UV-C kills flu, MRSA, and other harmful viruses and germs.
The University of Washington Tacoma is trying to create more partnerships with students and community members. Lisa Hoffman, an associate professor of urban studies at UW Tacoma, will help develop partnerships between the community and campus. She is special assistant to the chancellor for community engagement. She will look for ways to use the community as a classroom.
