Sightward

Bellevue-based Sightward appointed John Messner director of sales and Michele Halliday senior manager of sales. Messner and Halliday will focus on selling Sightward's Catalog Optimizer, a custom modeling and reporting tool that helps catalog marketers fine-tune their business. Previously, Messner created the consulting and strategic services group of San Francisco's ActiveTools and was director of sales at Experian. Halliday was formerly an account manager at Experian. Sightward develops software and services for marketers that helps predict customer response.

University of Washington

Sandra O. Archibald has been named dean of the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington, pending Board of Regents approval. Archibald is currently dean of the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. She will fill a vacancy left by the death of Marc Lindenberg in 2002.

Brueggeman and Johnson Capital

Brueggeman and Johnson Capital announced a number of changes in its Seattle operation. The firm opened new offices in Two Union Square and has been rejoined by founding members George L. Johnson, who had been with Grant Thornton since it acquired a part of Brueggeman and Johnson in January, and Art Brueggeman, who is re-associating with the firm, specializing as an arbitrator and mediator of large valuation-related disputes. The firm is also merging with Grambush Valuation Advisors headed by Kevin Grambush. Grambush employees Theresa Sewell and Jerry Epler will join Brueggeman and Johnson Capital.

Ida Culver House Broadview

David R. Jones was recently promoted to director of clinical services in the nursing care center at the Ida Culver House Broadview retirement residence. Jones had been interim administrator at the center. Jones' background in nursing home administration includes previous positions with Island Health and Rehabilitation Center on Bainbridge Island and Group Health Cooperative in Bellevue.

Hotel Monaco

Clint Larson, chief concierge at Seattle's Hotel Monaco, has been accepted into Les Clefs d'Or. Translated as "keys of gold," Les Clefs d'Or is a national association of professional hotel concierges in the United States.

Seattle Executives Association

The Seattle Executives Association's newly elected officers are: Burke Barker, president of Empire Home Remodeling, president; Dick Pakko, president of Four Seasons Cleaners, first vice president; Scott Morton, principal of Morton Design of Bellevue, second vice president; and Tom Hill, president of Metropolitan Building Maintenance, re-elected treasurer. Established in 1916, Seattle Executives Association has 125 chief executive officers, presidents and senior executives as members.

Housing Finance Commission

Richard J. McIver has been appointed to the Washington State Housing Finance Commission by Governor Gary Locke. McIver has been a Seattle City Council member since 1997 and will assume the Finance Commission's member position for an elected local government employee. The position was previously held by Clark Crouch, a member of the city council from Richland. McIver has previously served the departments of City Planning, Office of Urban Renewal and the Department of Community Development.

LoudTalk.com

LoudTalk.com is a new business located in Federal Way that provides an online rating service for the meeting and convention industry. The subscription service is owned by Steve Miller, who has worked as a consultant to corporations, trade shows and conventions. It allows planners, exhibitors, sponsors and attendees to leave feedback and comments about event service providers on the Web. Eventually, the company plans to publish rankings. LoudTalk.com is initially serving Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, New Orleans, Dallas, Las Vegas, Anaheim and San Francisco with the service. The company's Web site is http://www.loudtalk.com.

Girl Scouts Totem Council

Sharon Cupp has been promoted to assistant executive director of membership for the Girl Scouts Totem Council for King, Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties. She previously was assistant executive director of membership for King County.

Esquin Wine Merchants

Esquin Wine Merchants promoted Jason Bray to wine buyer. Before joining Esquin, he was chef at Il Fornaio. Bray will be responsible for selecting and purchasing the Esquin wine inventory and heading its personal shopper program.

American Rhododendron Society

Mike Stewart has been named to a two-year term as president of the American Rhododendron Society. He is a member of the Portland Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society and has served as the society's western vice president for the past four years. Stewart owns Dover Nursery in Sandy, Ore., which produces 500 varieties of rhododendron. The society also named Fred Whitney of Kent to replace Stewart as western vice president.
