F2F Consulting has opened its doors as a client relationship consulting firm to assist businesses in tracking client satisfaction, building client loyalty and increasing understanding of client needs. Teens In Public Service was recently awarded a $1,000 Seattle Rotary Service Foundation Community Service Grant. Teens In Public Service, a Seattle-based nonprofit, selects leaders, ages 15-19, and matches them with 45 partnering nonprofit organizations for paid community service internships during the summer. TIPS interns tutor and mentor at-risk children, serve the homeless, work in the health and environmental fields, and provide cultural enrichment and educational opportunities to children and their families in the Seattle area.
Silverstein and Associates has changed its name to Silverstein-Thomas and Associates. The Seattle-based communications firm is owned and managed by Cécile Thomas and Bruce Silverstein. Clients include Brocade Communications Systems, Holland America Line, Intel Corp., Starbucks and the University of Washington. The firm is located in Fremont.
Steve Dunphy has been named associate editor at The Seattle Times. Dunphy is a business writer, with a focus on the regional economy. Dunphy writes the business Newsletter column, Economic Memo and Times Watch. He joined the paper in 1967 and previously served as the paper's business editor twice. Associate editors provide leadership throughout the newsroom and company.
Williams Kastner & Gibbs has named seven law students as summer associates: Louis Bubala, Jen Gannon, Annika Pollack, Angela Rye, Todd Sorenson, Frank Tonkin and Genevieve Watson. Bubala is attending the University of Oregon School of Law, Gannon and Rye are attending Seattle University School of Law, Pollack and Tonkin are students at the University of Washington Law School, Sorenson attends the University of Minnesota Law School and Watson is attending the University of Maine Law School.

Cascade Bank was named the best mid-sized company to work for in the state in a recent survey by Washington CEO magazine. Cascade Bank, established in 1916, is the only operating subsidiary of Cascade Financial Corp., headquartered in Everett. The bank's president and CEO is Carol K. Nelson. Cascade Bank operates 15 offices in Everett, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mukilteo, Smokey Point, Issaquah, Clearview, Woodinville, Lake Stevens, and Bellevue.
Alaska Distributors named Steve Loeb CEO. Loeb will also remain president of the Seattle-based company. Loeb has been with the company for 19 years. Alaska Distributors, founded in 1934, is a wholesaler and broker for the beverage industry, with distribution operations in Alaska and Western Washington, and brokerage operations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
Jim Rankin has been named fire marshal for King County. Rankin is the former fire chief of Eastside Fire and Rescue and the City of Issaquah. The King County Fire Marshal's office is operated under the county's Department of Development and Environmental Services.
Ronald Kleinknecht has been named the first dean of Western Washington University's new College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The college voted earlier this year to divide its College of Arts and Sciences into two new colleges: College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and College of Science and Technology. An announcement of a dean selection for the science and technology college is not expected for several weeks. Kleinknecht joined the university in 1970, most recently serving as interim arts and sciences dean.
John Voorhies has joined Pulsair Systems as its eastern region sales manager. Voorhies was previously product manager for Hoover TOTE Systems. Bellevue-based Pulsair engineers, designs and manufactures industrial liquid mixing products using its patented technology.
