Edmonds-based Terwedo Financial Services added Denine Winstead as director of client development. Winstead has been a supervisor with Safeco Insurance Co. for more than 20 years as a trainer, manager and mentor, with a focus on customer service. She will implement a marketing strategy designed by Steve Moeller, an expert on marketing financial services, and owner of American Business Visions.
The Washington Roundtable, a public policy organization comprised of CEOs from Washington's 40 major employers, named Stephen F. Mullin president of the organization. Mullin was vice president for eight years. He has more than 20 years of public policy experience. The group's areas of focus include economic climate, state fiscal policy and public education.
The board of directors of Redmond-based Action Engine Corp., a provider of data solutions for phones and devices, elected Scott G. Silk as president, chief executive officer and director. Silk was general manager of ePresence, a security solutions company. He was also president of North American operations for Gentia Software.
Bon-Macy's was recently awarded the Regional Corporation of the Year award by the Tukwila-based Northwest Minority Business Council. Nordstrom was named National Corporation of the Year. Awards are given annually to local corporate members of the council who make special efforts to promote minority business development. Litigator Paul E. Brain and real estate lawyer Roger T. Dunaway joined the Seattle office of law firm Ater Wynne. Both were with Mikkelborg, Broz, Wells & Fryer in Seattle. Brain has more than 20 years of experience with business clients in commercial litigation, focusing on real estate development. He has also worked on employment, finance and bankruptcy disputes. Dunaway handles structured settlement transfers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California and Alaska. He deals with purchase and sale transactions, commercial leasing, general landlord/tenant matters and foreclosures. Ater Wynne also has an office in Portland.

Bellevue-based Routh Crabtree Olsen hired two associates Steven K. Linkon and Wendy Walter. Linkon was with Newport Beach, Calif. firm Wright, Finlay & Zak, as senior counsel. He works on bankruptcy and litigation.
Walter was a tax associate in the Seattle office of Deloitte & Touche. She will focus on creditor's rights in bankruptcy. Routh Crabtree Olsen is a mortgage banking law firm representing financial institutions and investors.
Seattle restaurant Fish Club by Todd English appointed general manager David Scherling. Scherling worked at restaurants in Minneapolis. He was with Semiahmoo Resort and Oki Golf.
Woodinville restaurant The Barking Frog, part of Willows Lodge, recently won a Washington Wine Restaurant Award and recognition from Restaurant Hospitality for its wine list.
AAA plans to open a new office later this month at 1523 15th Ave. W., at the base of the Magnolia Bridge. It will also open an office in the Roosevelt/University neighborhood in August. AAA Washington/Inland has 840,000 members and provides roadside assistance, insurance and travel programs.
The Washington Restaurant Association Education Foundation elected Patty Davis to its board of directors. Davis will work on mentoring and leadership for students and professionals in the hospitality industry. She is vice president of Nootka Hotels, which owns Watertown Hotel and University Inn in Seattle's University District.
The FareStart Cafe at 2100 opened recently in Rainier Valley at 2100 24th Ave. S. FareStart trains homeless and disadvantaged people for careers in the food service industry. The cafe will also be a teaching facility for youth FareStart students. The Youth Barista training program aims to empower homeless and at-risk youth through hands-on training. Half of FareStart's operating budget comes from restaurants, cafes, catering and contract meals.
The University of Washington, Tacoma, named Carol Van Natta, director of development and alumni relations, as assistant chancellor for advancement. She will manage fund raising, government and media relations and communications. Van Natta has spent more than 25 years in higher education at six universities working on institutional advancement.
