Starbucks Corp.

Starbucks Corp. announced Troy Alstead, senior vice president, global finance, will succeed current CFO Pete Bocian at the end of the month. Bocian is leaving the company to join Hewlett-Packard as chief administrative officer. Alstead has worked at Starbucks for 16 years.

AMS Services

Bothell-based AMS Services, an insurance agency automation company, promoted Bill Bunker to president and Ed Roshitsh to executive vice president and chief operating officer. Bunker joined AMS in 2005. Roshitsh joined in 2006.

InfoSpace

Bellevue-based InfoSpace hired Stuart West as vice president of corporate development and chief strategy officer. West has 17 years experience in finance and business, and was recently vice president of operations finance at Yahoo! Inc. InfoSpace is a developer of metasearch products.

Puget Sound Bank

Bellevue-based Puget Sound Bank promoted Sean Brennan to chief lending officer, Tony Chalfant to chief credit officer and Phil Mitterling from chief financial officer to executive vice president. The bank also hired Pam Richmond, who will be a customer service officer.

WSU Puyallup Center

Washington State University entomologist and eco-toxicologist John Stark has been named the new director of the WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center. Stark succeeds Jon Newkirk who has been director of the center for the past four years and will become director of the WSU Extension Western Center for Risk Management Education in Spokane. Stark runs the Salmon Toxicology Research Laboratory at the Puyallup center, where he is researching the effects of pesticides and adjuvants in the water on salmon behavior.

Seattle Community Colleges

Constance Rice, managing director for knowledge management at Casey Family Programs, has been named to the board of trustees of the Seattle Community College District. The district is the second largest higher education institution in the state and educates more than 51,000 students each year at Seattle Central, North Seattle and South Seattle community colleges; Seattle Vocational Institute; and five specialized training centers in the city.

Washington State University

Washington State University has reopened the renovated Compton Union Building, and added three new restaurants, all of which are owned and operated by the family of alum Greg Markel, a former WSU faculty member and owner of Washington Securities and Investment Corp. The restaurants are The Sea Swiper, a cafe specializing in seafood; the Markel Coffee House; and Dupus Boomers, an upscale restaurant.

Graham & Dunn

Seattle-based law firm of Graham & Dunn hired Claire Molesworth as a new attorney. Molesworth is an associate on the Natural Resources & Manufacturing Team.
