Tacoma-based Sprague Pest Solutions promoted Ross Treleven to vice president of operations. Treleven has been at Sprague for over 20 years, starting as a field technician and working his way to general manager. His promotion is part of a transition to the fourth generation of the Treleven family to run the 93-year-old company, which operates in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Colorado and California.
Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards is the new vice chair of a U.S. Conference of Mayors' committee focusing on jobs, education and the workforce. A goal of the committee is to help cities build skilled workforces for the global economy.
Tool Gauge received a $125,000 Work Start grant from the state Department of Commerce to hire and train workers for its Tacoma factory, which is undergoing a $20 million expansion. Tool Gauge makes plastic and metal assemblies for the aerospace industry. The expanded factory will open this fall. Grant partners are the Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce County and Impact Washington, a nonprofit small business manufacturing consultant.

Christene James joined Cornish College of the Arts as vice president of finance and administration. James was assistant dean of finance and administration at the University of Washington's School of Pharmacy. Prior to that, she was a project manager in global infrastructure for Amazon.
In Seattle, Glass Distillery hired Thomas Woodley as director of national sales. Woodley comes from Woodward Canyon Winery, where he managed national and export sales for over 15 years, building a network of over 30 distributors. Glass Distillery sells artisanal vodka in the U.S. and Canada.
Seattle Art Museum selected mixed-media artist Aaron Fowler for the 2019 Gwendolyn Knight and Jacob Lawrence Prize. Fowler will receive $10,000 and will get a solo exhibition in SAM's Gwendolyn Knight & Jacob Lawrence Gallery in the fall. Based in Harlem, Los Angeles and St. Louis, Fowler makes large-scale sculptures from found materials.
Seattle-based business tax software developer Avalara bought Compli, a provider of compliance services to the U.S. alcoholic beverage industry, based in Paso Robles, California. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Avalara has 12 offices around the world and employs over 1,500 staff.

West Monroe Partners promoted Tom Bolger to chief strategy officer. Bolger joined the business and technology consulting firm in 2005 to open the Seattle office, and later led expansions into Los Angeles and San Francisco. He remains in Seattle. West Monroe has nine offices across the country.


John Dippold was re-elected president and managing partner at Carney Badley Spellman in Seattle. The law firm also re-elected Kenneth Hart as director of associates.
Seattle-based asset manager Russell Investments announced Peter Gunning will remain as global chief investment officer, a role he assumed on an interim basis after Jeff Hussey left the firm in October. Gunning has extensive investment leadership experience, including 23 years at Russell. He was global chief investment officer from 2008 to 2013, and has been Asia-Pacific CEO since then.
In Bellevue, DreamBox Learning hired Lance Ludman as CFO, Jamie Gier as senior vice president of marketing and Meghan Browne as senior vice president of client experience and success. Ludman was CFO of Enterprise Markets Group for Blackbaud, a developer of philanthropic software. Gier led communications and marketing for SCI Solutions, a maker of patient access and care coordination software. Browne was COO at NewSchools Venture Fund. DreamBox developed a K-8 digital math program that adapts to students' answers and how they solve problems.
Liberty Lake-based Family Resource Home Care bought Arlington-based Cascade In-Home Care. Cascade has served King, Snohomish, Skagit and Island counties since 2010 under the ownership of Linda and Jon Senn. Linda Senn will remain with the company in accounting and quality assurance. Long-time Cascade administrator Caroleen Chiorah will continue as regional manager. Family Resource Home Care now has nine offices across Washington and Idaho, with 850 staff. It provides non-medical in-home care services.
