University Mechanical Contractors has added three to its management staff, including
Maria Boyer as manager of design-build operations,
Mike McNeil as senior project manager and
Rich Happel as general manager of service. Boyer is responsible for overseeing construction on many of the firm's design-build projects. She has 13 years of industry experience, plus knowledge in training and setting up management systems. McNeil is assigned to the company's Sea-Tac Airport South Terminal expansion project. He has over 30 years of experience, most recently managing mechanical construction on the new Seahawks Stadium. Happel is responsible for the operations and sales of the firm's service group, which includes on-call, maintenance and equipment replacements.
Ramos

Everett-based Mayes Testing Engineers has hired
Rolly Ramos as project manager for its Portland branch. Ramos comes to the firm with over 29 years of materials testing and inspection experience, and holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. He will be responsible for providing technical support, field supervision and project management for the office.
Earlier this year, a new regional chapter (Northwest Chapter) of the Design Build Institute of America was formed and interim officers elected. The board includes: David Mortenson of M.A. Mortenson Co., president; Darlene Septelka of Washington State University, vice president; David Groff of Groff & Murphy, secretary; and Bob Chapman of CH2M Hill, treasurer. The chapter covers Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska

Barclay Dean Construction has promoted
Terry Lettic to director of business development. Lettic has experience dating back to 1970 in project management, design-build, negotiated GMP and construction management. He has been with Barclay Dean since July 2001.
Lennon

Michael T. Lennon has been named president of InfrastruX Group, a non-regulated subsidiary of Puget Energy. Lennon previously was co-founder and managing director of Lennon Smith Advisors, a Seattle-based investment bank. InfrastruX was founded in June 2000 as an infrastructure construction company providing new construction, repair, rehabilitation and maintenance services to electric and gas utilities and telecommunication providers. It operates nine construction companies in more than 30 states.
