Several changes have been made in Turner Construction's Seattle office: Chris Henderson was promoted from senior project manager to manager of the Seattle Interiors Group, Chris Killian was promoted from business development engineer to manager of the Eastside Interiors Group, and Bob Barlish recently joined as a senior project manager for the Special Projects Division. Kevin Stilwell continues to manage the Special Projects Division.

Bellevue's Express Construction Co. hired Pam Hoerle as director of business development. Hoerle has 10 years of marketing and business development experience. She is active in Commercial Real Estate Women, Building Owners and Managers Association, International Council of Shopping Centers and NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Project Delivery Analysts

Jones
Bill Jones joined Project Delivery Analysts as a partner and is leading its Pacific Northwest Division. Jones is a civil engineer with 30 years of general contracting and construction consulting experience. He also has a background in civil engineering. Project Delivery Analysts offers preconstruction and construction phase management. It has offices on Bainbridge Island and in Los Angeles.

Central Washington University

Construction management students from Central Washington University placed third in the Commercial Construction and Multi-Family categories at the Associated Schools of Construction 2011 Student Competition and Construction Management Conference last month in Reno, Nev. CWU was competing in the Far West region group. Students were tested in estimating, project management, safety and logistics. The Commercial team included: Tela Gilge, Jake Kelsey, Sari Gudwin, Justin Pritchett, Josh Roeter, David Rothnie, Jeff Bird (alternate) and CM professor Bill Bender (coach). The Multi-Family team included: Craig Almont, Kelvin Crockford, Jacqueline DeRuyter, Sam Fowler, Jesse Galligan, Jeremy Winter, Caleb Boston (alternate) and professor Dave Carns (coach). Almont also won the Outstanding Presenter award from Morley Builders. CWU was supported by Granite Construction, Gary Merlino Construction Co., Sellen Construction, Belsaas and Smith Construction, Thayer Excavating and Walsh Construction.

Construction Owners Association of America

Fujii
Kaniss
The Construction Owners Association of America opened a Washington chapter. John Kaniss of Pacific Lutheran University is president and Neil Fujii, a managing engineer for King County, is vice president. Kaniss is construction manager of PLU's capital projects. Fujii is credited for setting up the local chapter. COAA provides education, information and relationship building for construction owners.

Control Contractors Inc.

Maury Costantini was promoted from vice president of sales and marketing to president of Control Contractors Inc. The Seattle-based company also named Brian Miller chief technology officer and Rick Campfield vice president for the Oregon market. Costantini has more than 18 years of mechanical and building automation industry experience. Prior to joining CCI, he was vice president of sales for a HVAC software company. Miller has more than 25 years of experience and is transitioning out of his Anchorage branch management role, but will continue working at that office. Campfield has 25 years of industry experience and holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington. CCI provides building automation, energy services, fire/life safety and access control services for new and existing buildings.

Boise State University

Boise State University construction management students recently competed at the 24th annual Associated Schools of Construction Region 6 Student Competition held in Reno, Nev. BSU teams took first place in the Heavy Civil division, and second in the Design Build and Multi-Family divisions. The Heavy Civil team included: Stephen Earl (captain), Jared Staub, Matt Wilson, Shane Medley, Nick Meyer, Cody Allison, Brack Judy (alternate), Robert Nicol (alternate) and Thomas Woodall (faculty coach). The Design Build team included: Tucker Robb (captain), Joe Coba, Casey Gaughan, Nathan Griggs, Tim Harris, Jared Townsend, Matt Basye (alternate) and Tony Songer (faculty coach). The Multi-Family team included: Brian Root (captain), Alex Carles, Paul Haas, Drew Haviland, Josh Milton, Kris Moncada, Chase Dyksterhouse (alternate) and William Mincks (faculty coach). Songer is chair of the school's CM department.
