Erik Olnon and Kevin Wildes joined Seattle-based PSF Mechanical as sheet metal detailers. Olnon holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from the University of Washington. He has been in the industry for 10 years, and is a professional engineer and LEED Accredited Professional. Wildes has been in the industry since 1978, detailing sheet metal for 21 years. PSF, an Energy Services Co., is a mechanical engineering, construction and consulting firm.

Robert Askins, vice president of Graham Construction & Management, was elected president of the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors. Askins is a graduate of Washington State University. He is leading construction of the WSU Biomedical and Health Sciences Building at the Spokane campus and the WSU Northside Residence Hall in Pullman. He previously worked for Max J. Kuney Co. and Shea Construction.
Two teams of construction management students from Central Washington University earned honors at this year's Associated Schools of Construction Region 6 and 7 Student Competition in Sparks, Nev. CWU placed first in the Heavy Civil construction category and third in the Mixed-Use project category. More than 1,300 students were judged on estimating, project management, safety, logistics and oral presentations. The Heavy Civil team included Elliot Brasch, Ryan Cearley, Jonathan Foss, Scott Martin, Reese Thompson and team captain Kaitlyn Jones. Grant Maskal was alternate and Reyna Perez second alternate. The Mixed-Use team was comprised of Lester C. Brown III, Niklas Carlstrom, Tyler Eldred, Colton Novinger, Matthew Woodard and team captain Caleb Boston. Ryan Kemp was the alternate. CWU got $1,500 for first place and $500 for second. The Beavers Charitable Trust is donating $12,500 to establish a construction management scholarship because of the first place finish. Professor Warren Plugge coached the Heavy Civil team and professor Dave Carns coached the Mixed-Use team.
Dexter+Chaney's Venture Project Collaboration Software was named Experts' Choice winner in the Business Tools and Software category of the 2012 Most Innovative Products Award program at the World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas. The awards program recognizes products that increase productivity, enhance quality, and promote safety for jobsites and employees in construction.

Shane Miller of Divcon Inc. was elected 2012 treasurer for the Tilt-Up Concrete Association. Divcon is based in Spokane Valley. TCA is an international nonprofit for the tilt-up concrete industry based in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Tacoma's Milgard Windows & Doors, company executives built 50 bikes for kids at their annual meeting. The bikes were delivered to Helping Hand House, Boys and Girls Clubs of Pierce County and Sheridan Elementary School in Tacoma. Milgard HR manager Barb Motley organized the event.
