Most meetings are too long. Sometimes, groups get bogged down in minor details before the core discussion even starts. At other times, key elements are introduced right at the beginning, only to stall when a few participants get stuck in a debate over minutia, while everyone else rolls their eyes, waiting to get back to work.
The object of most meetings is to look at a situation, get meaningful feedback and make a decision. Getting to an agreement is usually the sticking point.
