Talking History: After more than 10 years of work, renovations wrap up at historic Gig Harbor boatyard
Community members, boat aficionados and project partners are celebrating the end of more than a decade's worth of work to restore a historic boatyard in Gig Harbor and give it a new lease of life as a community asset.
The Eddon Boatyard, at 805 Harborview Drive, dates back to 1945. It consists of a marina, a boat building shop (the Boat Building), and a charming brick single-family home (the Boatyard House). That home was the last structure to be renovated and officially re-opened to the public this fall as rentable space for community and private events and gatherings.
