Next month, the Seattle Department of Planning and Development will start requiring monthly payments for processing master-use permits needed for development projects.
Now, the department requires a minimum up-front payment that covers a certain number of MUP review hours. However, for large and complex projects or ones that are appealed, it's not uncommon for the review cost to exceed that fee, said department spokesman Bryan Stevens.
