SME branches out into solar, wind projects

    On the CITC roof, Northwest Wind & Solar built a structural support system for the solar panels to counter additional wind loads.

    Wind and solar energy systems are bringing a ray of sunshine to a local electrical contractor. That sunbeam is also shining on students at the Construction Industry Training Council of Washington school in Bellevue, who are learning about solar projects through a system installed by a division of electrical contractor SME Inc. of Seattle.
