Monday's auction for the prime Cost Plus property in downtown Bellevue drew some interesting bidders, including Kemper Freeman Jr., Bjorn Bayley, co-owner of the Renton Ikea, and Jeff Rhodes. Each left the derby before the bidding ended at $11 million.
Rhodes said he pursued the property with another well-known player, CB Richard Ellis broker Tim O'Keefe. Their strategy, according to Rhodes, was to make the approximately 1.8-acre site part of a larger project at Bellevue's hottest intersection.
