SUN PEAKS, B.C. -- Delta Hotels and Sun Peaks Resort Corp. announced plans for the design and construction of Delta Sun Peaks Resort, a first-class, 230-room hotel and conference centre to open in time for the Christmas 2001/2002 ski season. The estimated cost of the project is $40 million.
Delta has resorts located in Whistler, B.C., Kananaskis, Alberta and Haliburton, Ontario.
Located 30-miles northeast of Kamloops, Sun Peaks Resort is a year-round mountain resort destination for skiing, snow-boarding, mountain biking, hiking and golf. The project will be styled after a European mountain village, located at the base of the mountain. It will have a 150-seat restaurant, lounge, meeting space, health club, underground parking and retail shops.
In partnership with Sun Peaks Resort Corp., Delta Hotels will invest a percentage of the equity capital as well as assume management of the hotel operations upon completion.
