November 3, 2000
BEND, Ore. -- Starfest, a magical drive-through festival of holiday lights, returns to Eagle Crest Resort, Nov. 24 and runs nightly through Jan. 3, 2001.
The eighth annual festival is open from 5:30 to 9 p.m. The sparkling two-mile drive features animated lighted displays and illuminated buildings and trees. The event includes a 42-foot fire-breathing dragon, ski-jumping Santa, toy soldiers, dinosaurs and a 14-foot snowman. Every Friday and Saturday night during Starfest, guests can enjoy the lights the old fashioned way under a warm blanket and starry sky aboard a horse-drawn wagon. Call (541-923-2453) for ride reservations.
