Seattle-based Impinj announced that Miron Washington will join its board of directors on April 2. Washington has 25 years of experience across business-to-consumer and business-to-business ecommerce, global supply chain operations, and digital transformation. He currently serves on the boards of The Eighth Notch and KairosPDX, and is the chief digital officer of Parts Town. He was previously Home Depot's vice president of customer experience and general manager of its Quote Center business unit. Prior to that, Washington served in executive roles at Monotype Imaging, Staples and Amazon. The Impinj platform uses RAIN RFID to deliver data about everyday things to business and consumer applications.
Seattle-based Building Transparency hired Francesco Pomponi as program director for Europe; and Katie Poss as procurement and policy program manager. Also, Vaclav Hasik was promoted to program director for North America, where he will continue to spearhead the development of Building Transparency's tools and training programs. Pomponi will be the nonprofit's first Europe-based employee, where he will play a fundamental role in driving growth and awareness globally of the organization's tools and the importance of embodied carbon awareness and reductions. He joined the organization from Edinburgh Napier University, where he was a professor of sustainability science and head of the Resource Efficient Built Environment Lab. Poss will focus on elevating the embodied carbon conversation and ensuring that project stakeholders understand their role in decarbonizing the built environment sector. Poss was the sustainability program manager for the Technology Division at Turner Construction, where she managed LEED certification, embodied carbon accounting and reduction, and construction phase emissions tracking. Promoted from his previous role as program manager, Hasik will lead methodology, data quality and LCA research. He will also spearhead demos, webinars and trainings of tools to help educate the AEC industry on the importance of reducing embodied carbon emissions. Formed in 2020, Building Transparency provides open-access data and tools that support action across the building industry in addressing embodied carbon's role in climate change.
Glue, an employee engagement company formerly known as Mystery, launched a new AI-powered connection platform that uses machine learning, recommendation, optimization, network science, and modeling across data points to help leaders maximize employee connection and engagement. Sequencing and optimization machine learning models work within the new platform to help learn what is working to keep companies connected, and what interventions can be taken to give leaders the highest ROI for moving connection and engagement. Unlike survey-based employee engagement platforms, Glue gives HR and people teams access to real-time connection data based on employees' digital interactions. Additionally, Glue acquired PopStage, an HR software company focused on creating virtual experiences. Glue is headquartered in Seattle, and is backed by investors including Greylock, Moving Capital, Endeavor and Gaingels.
Security Properties announced last week that it has successfully raised and deployed $200 million for what it calls the Multifamily Fund VI. Generally acting as the general partner to the fund, Security Properties has acquired some 28 apartment properties nationwide, with around 6,400 units. (Pictured among them is the South Block apartments, in Salem, Oregon.) The fund began life in 2021, hit its target in six months, and later combined with another $780 million from institutional investors. Security Properties' Ed McGovern said in a statement, “Security Properties has had a long history of working with private individuals to invest in multifamily real estate going back to its founding in 1969. We strive to be communicative, responsive and transparent.”

NAI Puget Sound Properties announced the recent hiring of veteran broker Blake Stedman. He makes the move from Re/Max Commercial Services. The new senior VP said in a statement, “I am excited to be working with the many professional commercial brokers at NAI Puget Sound Properties and look forward to using my background, education and experience to add to the success of this great team.”
Payscore is a local startup, based in Leschi, that helps apartment building managers verify the incomes of potential tenants. It recently raised an unspecified amount of cash from private-equity investors led by ffVC of New York. The latter firm's Alex Katz is on the Payscore board of directors, and said in a statement, “By analyzing consumer-permissioned data, Payscore ensures every applicant is evaluated fairly and objectively, even when income is cash-based, like tips, or fluctuates, like commissions.” Payscore co-founder CEO Mark Fiebig added, “We're making it simple for applicants and operators to easily share and accurately assess the truth about income.” Other backers include the Bay Area's Hamilton Ventures and local shops SeaChange Fund and Alliance of Angels. Payscore's second co-founder is Stephen Arifin.

Visit Seattle supplies all kinds of interesting data and trendlines for the hospitality industry, which is rebounding nicely from the pandemic. The trade group recently announced that Kennedy James has come on board as VP of talent and culture. She makes the move from the Gottman Institute. Visit Seattle CEO Tammy Canavan said in a statement, “Our people generate incredible benefits for the city we call home. We strive to continue this legacy by cultivating inventive, talented professionals while creating an environment where our team can feel inspired and supported to perform at their absolute best.”

Public47 Architects has announced a new associate group which will include Hayley Buckbee, Martha Cox, Steven Jackson, Jon Kwon, and Mike Laurencelle. This associate group will provide additional leadership as the firm moves forward into its second decade.
Raised and educated in the Pacific Northwest, Buckbee is a graduate of Portland State University and received her Master of Architecture degree from University of Washington. She has worked on various project sizes and types ranging from residential remodels to urban mixed-use. In addition to her work with Public, she co-runs a site-specific art installation collaborative and has taught architectural studio at UW.
Cox is a licensed architect with ten years of experience on a wide range of projects with a growing expertise in mass timber. She is deeply involved in ULI Northwest, serving on the local multi-family product council as well as co-chairing the ULI Northwest Young Leaders Group Board. She was recently awarded the ULI Prologis Achievement Award. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rice University.
Jackson, a graduate of the University of Colorado and University of Washington's Master of Architecture program, is a licensed architect with a background in furniture design and fabrication. Many of his projects have dealt with challenging sites and complex zoning issues.
Kwon is a licensed architect with over 30 years of experience on a wide range of projects from police precincts to downtown towers to single-family homes. He is detail-oriented and brings technical expertise to the team while serving as a mentor to the younger staff.
An east-coast transplant and University of Washington graduate, Laurencelle has worked on a variety of project types including urban mixed-use, adaptive reuse, and multifamily housing exploring high-performance building technologies and mass timber construction. He is also a certified Construction Document Technologist.


RMC Architects has hired Ellie Cuthrell as a design professional. Cuthrell received a Bachelor of Architecture in 2022 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She also minored in Computer Science.
She is currently working on State Street Creamery in Bellingham. The project is a multifamily/commercial site capacity study for 98 units of housing with ground floor commercial space. She is also working on the Skagit Valley College Learning Commons project in Mount Vernon, WA. Using her considerable graphic and CAD rendering skills, Cuthrell will assist RMC with visualizing design concepts for a variety of building types.
RMC has also promoted Jason Williard AIA, LEED AP to principal. As part of the firm's strategic plan to ensure a successful future, this promotion recognizes the importance of ushering in a new generation of leadership.
Williard joined RMC in 2006. He has worked on some of RMC's most notable projects, including Peoples Bank in the Barkley Financial District, the Rocket Building in the Fairhaven Historic District, Spring Street Landing on the Friday Harbor Waterfront, and Bellingham Public Schools District Office Building, currently in progress.

Kevin Stewart has joined Cushing Terrell as food and beverage design studio director. Stewart will lead new business pursuits, strategic partnership development, and client relationship management for the firm's food and beverage work.
Stewart brings more than 20 years of experience to the Cushing Terrell team, ranging from hospitality, food and beverage, and cultural projects to commercial office, mixed-use, multi-family, and single-family residential projects.
Stewart will support Cushing Terrell's strategic goal to expand its food and beverage work for clients across the United States. This will involve increasing awareness of the firm's project experience and multidisciplinary capabilities, continuing to grow the food and beverage team, and identifying opportunities to support current and new clients with their project needs.
Prior to joining Cushing Terrell, Stewart was the principal and founder of his own architecture firm, Design Hound, based in Austin, Texas. Earlier, he worked for several architecture firms in Texas and Arizona, serving in the roles of project manager and project architect, as well as leading marketing, client relations, and staff management and development. He has experience in all aspects of the design process, from conceptual design and production to construction documents and contractor team management. He is a registered architect in the states of Arizona, Idaho, and Texas.





ZGF has promoted the following team members to pricipal; Kendall Strong, Marty Brennan, Justin Rabe, Flavia Grey and Chris Griffes.
Strong is an architect with nearly 20 years of experience working on complex healthcare projects, from outpatient facilities to a major children's hospital expansion. She advocates for the integration of sustainable design features whenever possible.
As a project manager, Strong is actively involved in all aspects of day-to-day project operations from programming through construction.
Brennan, AIA, WELL APA, is an architect, sustainability leader, and light health researcher with 15 years of experience. In addition to supporting project teams, he has helped developed multiple open-source tools for carbon reduction and daylighting analysis, co-authored applied research papers, and spoken on international stages about various sustainability and public health topics. He was also a light concept advisor for the WELL Building Institute.
Rabe, PE, is an architect and technical designer with extensive background in healthcare and higher education projects. His two decades of combined architecture and engineering expertise allows him to engage in all project phases, from developing design and phasing strategies, to ensuring the chosen building systems are compatible with the project goals, to leading construction documentation and administration efforts.
Grey, PhD, leads ZGF's firm-wide data strategy and research development efforts, championing the use of data-driven solutions to aid in design development, decision making, and performance evaluation across all project typologies and phases. As a Stanford University researcher, Grey has authored a variety of peer-reviewed studies examining the connections between building design, sustainability, occupant wellbeing and productivity. She regularly speaks and guest-lectures on these topics.
Griffes, RA, CDT, LEED AP, brings over four decades of experience as an architect and project manager, specializing in the technical components of projects and refinement of the documentation process. Today he spends most of his time staffing and hiring, ensuring that project teams have the right talent and staff are working on projects aligned with their goals and skillsets.
Itron announced that it signed a contract with Abbanoa S.p.A., the main water distributor in Sardinia, Italy, to supply Itron Intelis wSource smart water meters to the utility to decrease water waste and support more responsible and sustainable water use. Itron's smart metering technology gives Abbanoa access to detailed and precise data on a frequent basis. The Itron Intelis wSource is an ultrasonic water meter featuring advanced functionality to improve water network visibility, reduce water losses and enhance billing accuracy. Itron enables utilities and cities to deliver critical infrastructure solutions to communities in more than 100 countries with its portfolio of smart networks, software, services, meters and sensors to help its customers better manage electricity, gas and water resources. Itron is based in Liberty Lake.
The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), headquartered in Beaverton, announced the appointment of mobility supplier DENSO as its newest charter member. The CCC also announced that Eric Smith, chief architect, digital key, at DENSO will be joining the board of directors. DENSO is a global supplier of advanced technology and components for nearly every vehicle make and model on the road today. DENSO invests in nearly 200 facilities worldwide to produce electrification systems, powertrain systems, thermal systems, mobility electronics and other advanced solutions such as end-to-end Digital Key technology. DENSO joins charter members Apple, BMW, Ford, General Motors, Google, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, NXP, Panasonic, Samsung, Thales, Volkswagen and Xiaomi with representatives on the board. The Car Connectivity Consortium is a cross-industry organization advancing technologies for smartphone-to-car connectivity solutions.
