The Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce has elected new officers and board members. Charles Hamilton of CHCS.com Web Development was elected president, Larry Metz of Chutney's Grille was selected as vice-president, Casey Blake of Madison Market, was elected secretary, and Stephen Radke of Group Health Cooperative was elected treasurer. Newly elected to the board are Danny Howe, from Seattle Central Community College; Glenda Kinsey, from Bank of America's Broadway branch; Henrietta Taylor Knight, Country Doctor Community Health Centers; Jim Leibertz, from Dr. Felix Marcial's dental office; Michael Petrone, Seattle Candle Works; Lisa Putesko, Coastal Kitchen; and Lorrie Jean Rarey, CPA. The organization also set new goals and established five new committees: Events, Communication, Representation, Membership and Finance.
Pacific Edge promoted Mike Metcalf to vice president of marketing. Metcalf will oversee corporate communications, corporate and product marketing, and strategic partnerships. Most recently, he was responsible for the company's product marketing and product management teams and business development activities. Pacific Edge, headquartered in Bellevue, provides project portfolio management solutions for Global 1000 companies.
Marilyn Metz has been named regional private banking manager for Wells Fargo. She also serves as vice president at the bank and will lead a team of 10 relationship managers, credit analysts and support staff serving clients in Bellevue, Clyde Hill, Issaquah, Kirkland, Medina and Redmond.
Erlinda Sage is the founder of International Diplomatic Services. The new Seattle-based business is geared toward international business services for both the governmental and private sector. The law firm of Garvey, Schubert & Barer has opened an office in New York City. The New York firm of Aieta & Greco merged its practice into Garvey, Schubert & Barer and will serve as the core of the New York office in the Soho neighborhood. Keven Davis of the Seattle office has relocated to New York to expand the firm's entertainment practice. Currently, the firm has over 115 attorneys practicing in Seattle, Washington D.C., Portland and New York City.
The Allen Foundation for the Arts has awarded Tacoma's Museum of Glass a $1 million challenge grant. The museum has raised $37.6 million of its $63 million capital campaign goal. Grants have previously been received from the Joshua Green Foundation, Regence Blue Shield, the Schultz Family Foundation and Washington Mutual. The museum is expecting to open in July.
Catherine Drews of Preston Gates & Ellis is a new board member of the Washington section of the American Water Resources Association. The association is a scientific and educational nonprofit organization consisting of 2,800 professionals dedicated to sharing information related to water resource issues. Drew is one of eight directors from Washington state and will serve a one-year term

Aecon Buildings has hired three new superintendents -- Paul Kerouac Jr., Alan "Waz" Wazallann and Bela Pataky -- to help with its continued growth in the retail and gaming segments. Kerouac brings over 18 years of supervisory experience, most recently from JJPI Corp. in Seattle. Wazallann, formerly a superintendent with R.D. Merril Co., has 32 years of experience in heavy, commercial and residential construction. Pataky has 20 years of experience in both international and domestic, commercial and industrial projects. Aecon Buildings, the U.S. division of Aecon Group, was formerly BFC Frontier.

Wayne Wenzel, facility maintenance technician for the city of University Place, has been awarded Building Operator Certification Level 1 by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council. Wenzel received the certification following a year of training and project work in building operations. The program is accredited by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, and technical and community colleges in Washington and Oregon.
