University of Washington president Richard McCormick will talk at the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties' next monthly breakfast meeting. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Crown Plaza Hotel on Sixth Avenue in downtown Seattle. McCormick will discuss UW's impact on the area economy, but he'll also address architecture and development. The American Institute of Architects is one of the breakfast organizers, and will tie the presentation to its 2002 Celebrate Architecture activities that begin in November. Brett Percy joined Williams Marketing of Seattle to sell condos and town homes in the Seattle area. Percy, who has 13 years of experience, starts with selling 51 units in TriBeCa, which consists of 43 condos and eight town homes atop a new Safeway that Milliken Development has under construction in Lower Queen Anne. Completion is set for next spring. Percy recently sold units in a nearby project. Williams Marketing specializes in selling Seattle condos, and now has 14 projects in which it's selling units.

Mike Porosky bought the 12-unit Meadow Glen Apartments in Puyallup at 511 12212 112th Ave. Court E. from John Tam for $660,000. Broker Tim Selden of Marcus & Millichap represented Porosky.
Tom Blue paid Dennis Oelrich $817,500 for the 16-unit Park Plaza Apartments in Auburn at 511 M St. N.E. M&M's Scott Morasch represented Blue.
Robert Smiley sold the Attic Mini Self Storage in Poulsbo at 5801 Minder St. to James Welch for $435,000. M&M's Richard Walker represented Welch.
Glenn Dahmer paid Stuart Marcus $920,000 for the 30-unit Crossbow Apartments in Tacoma at 7410 McKinley Ave. M&M's Armand Tiberio represented both parties.
The 12-unit Kirkland Place Apartments at 421 Seventh Ave. in Kirkland sold for $1.08 million. The seller was 1031 Strategies & Services, Inc. and the buyer was Kirkland Place Apartments, LLC. M&M's Dan Swanson represented both sides, with Tim Selden also representing the seller.
Matthew Lundquist sold a six-unit Everett apartment building at 1619 Chestnut St. for $310,000 to Strattford LLC. M&M's Steve Steadele represented Lundquist and Richard Walker represented the buyer.
Antioch University Seattle has chosen Medicine Wheel Academy in Spokane, Ferndale High School in Ferndale, and Tulalip Heritage School in Marysville to take part in the Early College High School Initiative, a nationwide effort to increase the number of Native American, low-income and minority students to get bachelor’s degrees. The schools are part of a five-year, $40 million initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Carnegie Corp. of New York and the Ford Foundation. During the next two years, Antioch expects to add as many as six more schools to join the program.
Qpass named Tom Trinneer vice president of products and Steve Shivers vice president of worldwide sales. Trinneer was most recently vice president of business development at Wildseed. Shivers worked as a consultant to wireless and technology companies and was previously employed at InfoSpace. Qpass provides commerce solutions for wireless carriers.
Group Health Cooperative named Victor Collymore, MD, medical director for utilization and care management of its Puget Sound division. The division ranges from Olympia to Everett and includes 22 medical centers. Collymore's previous positions include associate medical director, director of hospital operations, physician director and regional department chief of hospital services at Kaiser Permanente Medical Groups in Southern California and Colorado.
John Heily will chair this year's University of Portland's President's Club Campaign. Heily is president and CEO of Continental Mills. The President's Club recognizes individuals who have given gifts of at least $1,000 to the university in a given year.
Huw Edwards joined the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra as music director. Edwards served as the director of the Portland Youth Philharmonic for the past seven years and has been a guest faculty performer at the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra's summer Marrowstone Music festival. The Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra is currently preparing for it's 60th anniversary season.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency regional office in Seattle named Jane Vukonich tribal liaison for tribal governments and native villages in Alaska, Oregon, Idaho and Washington. Vukonich will lead agency efforts in 272 federally recognized tribal governments in the region.
The Seattle Times named Kristi Robertson real estate category manager in its advertising department and Lucy Mohl senior news producer for seattletimes.com. Robertson was previously online sales manager at The Olympian in Olympia and Mohl most recently served as programming director and editor-in-chief for RealNetworks
