Doug Toms, Don Simplot and Bob Brennan, former president of Sunmakers Travel Group, are the new owners of Glacier Bay Cruiseline. The Seattle-based company, formerly owned by Juneau, Alaska-based Goldbelt, Inc., will offer cruises featuring Oregon's Columbia, Willamette and Snake rivers, as well as Glacier Bay National Park.
Worktank Creative Media has been certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council. The company said certification process ensures that the business has 51 percent ownership by a woman or women, effective management, solid financials and a level of clients and contracts past and present. Worktank is based in Seattle and provides creative strategy and production for companies including Microsoft, HP, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Puget Sound Energy.
Seattle-based Alaska Distributors, which distributes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in Alaska and Washington, selected Motek's Priya warehouse management software to integrate its Anchorage, Bremerton, Fairbanks and Seattle distribution operations on a single server. Motek is based in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Lawrence Wallack, director of Portland State University's School of Community Health, was named dean of the College of Urban and Public Affairs. Wallack, who replaces Nohad A. Toulan, came to PSU in 1999 from the University of California, Berkeley. He was founding director of the Berkeley Media Studies Group and is a founding senior fellow of the Rockridge Institute.
Paras General Contractors, based in Spokane, promoted Terry Martin to general superintendent and Randy Zutter to safety administrator/craft labor manager. Martin is a former superintendent and Zutter was previously a foreman and project superintendent. Reid Dickinson, who has been in the construction industry since 1991, was hired as the concrete division manager for Paras Concrete Contractors, the firm's concrete contracting division.

The Associated General Contractors of Washington recently installed its officers and trustees for 2004. It also handed out its Contractor of the Year award to Gloria Van Dusen of Absher Construction and its Affiliate of the Year award to Ross Pouley of URS Corp. New officers include: Wilf Wainhouse of Sellen Construction, president; Brett Ferullo of Northwest Construction, first vice president; Gus Gottschalk of Lydig Construction, second vice president; Wendy Pare of Nuprecon, secretary/treasurer; George Kramer of Aecon Buildings, Seattle District vice president; Rusty Laird of Com-Steel, Northern District vice president; David D'Hondt of Absher Construction, Southern District vice president; and John Lewis of R.P. Lewis Construction, Central Washington District vice president.
