Waco, Texas-based fitness center franchise Curves International recently announced the sale of its University Village area store to mother-daughter team Karen and Kate Ablott. There will be an open house on July 13 at the center.
Fashion retailer Express plans to open a store on the second level of Pacific Place in November. Construction is set to start this week. This will be the third location Express store for men and women in the Puget Sound area.
Tacoma-based Russell Investment Group appointed Jay Slusher to its U.S. Distribution retirement services group. He will be regional sales director for the 12-state central region. Dale Pellow has been named chief operating officer of Howard S. Wright Construction Co. For the immediate term, he is continuing as president of the firm's Portland office. Pellow joined the company in 1995 as a project engineer and worked his way through the ranks. He has nearly 20 years of construction experience.

Todd Meadows as president. Meadows previously was vice president and general manager. Caliber is a testing and inspection firm for the aerospace, construction and heavy-industrial industries.

He will work with the company's Anchorage office corrosion department in an effort to bring control services to the Puget Sound area. Wies is project manager for projects at Meridian Medical Center in Seattle and the Tulalip Casino Hotel in Marysville. Arnold is project manager for the Hilton Garden Inn in Issaquah and a multi-family project in Ballard. Keating is working on a fire station in Mountlake Terrace and a military lodging project at Fort Lewis Army Base. DCI is a Bellevue-based civil and structural consulting company.
