Seattle communications firm Horton Lantz & Low named Matt Ramerman a principal. He was chief operations officer and has 10 years of experience as senior marketing executive for food service brands Cinnabon, Seattle's Best Coffee and Torrefazione Italia.
Prepared Response appointed Andrew Gustafson vice president of finance and administration. He was vice president of finance for Capital Stream, a software vendor for banks, and also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Medisystems. Prepared Response develops crisis management planning and response systems for police, fire and other emergency responders.
The Seattle-based search and referral company Judy's Book recently announced it will be adding reviews of local businesses in all 50 states. The company was inspired by Judy Albert, the mother-in-law of co-founder Andy Sack. Her "little green book" of favorite local businesses became a sought-after resource among her friends and family. Sack founded the Internet-based company with Chris DeVore last year. It is backed by Ignition Partners, Ackerley Partners and angel investors. Seattle Executives Associations recently approved new members Viking Bank and Sundance Energy Services. Sundance will be respresented by its president, Curtis Dahl. John John Huey III, Viking's market manager for its south Seattle branch, will represent his group along with Rich Mulcahy, a senior vice president in Ballard. Seattle Executives Associations' 115 members are a mix of chief executive officers, presidents and senior executives from a range of industries

The Seattle office also promoted Leon Borden, Dave Killian, Gerard McGlynn and Mike Richotte to senior superintendents. Borden has worked with Skanska for 12 years. Killian has been with the firm for five years and has 24 years of experience. McGlynn joined Skanska 15 years ago and Richotte has been with the company for 12 of his 26 years in the industry

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers recently elected Michael J. Porcaro, president and managing partner of James Informational Media in Des Plaines, Ill., to serve on the AEM board of directors. AEM also appointed C. Mike Simpkins, president of Bomag Americas in Kewanee, Ill., to serve as the association's vice chairman-construction. AEM directors help set the guidelines and operating policies of the association on behalf of its members in areas such as technical/safety support, equipment statistics, public policy, trade shows, international marketing support and educational/training programs.

Capon, whose background is in metallurgical engineering, worked in quality assurance for 15 years, including work as a quality engineer at Cray, InControl and Interpoint. Capon will be based at Moeller's Seattle headquarters, where the company runs a 30,000-square-foot product development and prototyping facility
