Fisher Communications has hired Mae Numata as senior vice president and chief financial officer. She was with the Seattle Times. Fisher Communications operates 11 television stations and 27 radio stations in the Pacific Northwest and is headquartered in Seattle.

Washington State University

The Museum of Art at Washington State University has hired Craig Evans as director of development. He will be based in Seattle and will raise funds for a planned $10 million expansion of the museum.

Banner Bank has hired Randy Jansons as vice president/client manager at its Bellevue Corporate Banking Center. He was with Charter Bank in Redmond. Banner Bank is a commercial bank headquartered in Walla Walla.

D.A. Davidson

D.A. Davidson & Co., a full-service investment firm based in Great Falls, Mont., has hired Jon Gores as senior vice president, public finance in Seattle. He was with Seattle Northwest Securities.

InSpa

Seattle-based InSpa, a chain of mass-market day spas, is opening two California locations this fall. The company operates seven spas in the Seattle area.

Michael Armanious has joined Colliers International's Tacoma office as an associate broker. He specializes in investment sales and leasing, focusing primarily on South King and Pierce counties.

Grubb & Ellis

Grubb & Ellis Co. has named Cheryl Bloodworth director of the corporate services group. She will be based in Seattle, responsible for supporting corporate clients and developing new business in the region. She was with Mitsubishi Motors North America as national director of corporate services.

Simpson Housing

Simpson Housing, a privately held Denver-based multifamily owner, developer and manager, hired Brad Broyhill as president and chief operating officer. He will be based in Denver and responsible for overall operations of Simpson Housing. Broyhill was with Amstar, a Denver-based real estate private equity firm, where he was executive director of multifamily investments. Simpson has projects in Seattle and other cities in the region.

ARCH (A Regional Coalition for Housing)

ARCH (A Regional Coalition for Housing) gave its annual Community Housing Recognition Awards recently to recognize those who help meet the housing needs of the East King County community. The people who won awards are Linda Hall, former executive director of St. Andrew's Housing Group; Eric Campbell of CamWest; and Doreen Marchione, president and CEO of Hopelink. Other winning programs are the Kirkland Innovative Housing Demonstration Program and the Community Homes Adult Family Home Program. Winning projects are Greenbrier Heights in Woodinville, Avondale Park Redevelopment in Redmond and Evergreen Court in Bellevue.

Security buys California apartments

Seattle-based Security Properties, in partnership with Capmark Finance, purchased the 188-unit La Serena Apartments in Santa Ana, Calif., for $30 million. The 188-unit, 7.2-acre community is Orange County. Security plans a renovation. The company has acquired more than 800 apartments in Orange County in the past 90 days.

Davis Wright Tremaine

Heather Colburn has joined the intellectual property law group in Davis Wright Tremaine's Seattle office. She was with Barnard, Loop & McCormack.

Global Market Insite

Global Market Insite has hired Michael Vernon as chief financial officer and Judy Loucks as vice president of human resources. Mercer Island-based GMI provides global market intelligence for market research firms and departments. Vernon was with aQuantive and Loucks was with Community Health Network of Washington.

Cheetah Learning

The Project Management Institute has named Cheetah Learning CEO Michelle LaBrosse one of the world's 25 most influential women in project management. Seattle-based Cheetah Learning provides project management training.

Holland America Line

Holland America Line has hired Tino Salud as director, port operations. He was with the Port of Seattle. Based in Seattle, HAL is a subsidiary of Carnival Corp., the world's largest cruise company.
