Seattle Community Colleges hired Kurt Buttleman as chief financial officer. Buttleman has 10 years of experience in the Seattle District and has served as vice president for administrative services at South Seattle Community College since 2003. Seattle Community Colleges is the largest community college district in the state, with a combined annual operating and capital budget of more than $200 million.
Law firm Carney Badley Spellman hired Robert Weber as of counsel. Weber practices in real estate, business and corporation transactions.
Seattle-based Zoopa, a social advertising company, announced six new Northwest brands it will work with to develop ad campaigns. They include Jones Soda, Earth Class Mail, Grist and Wishpot. Zoopa sponsors ad competitions. It has 30,000 “community members” who create video, ads or other concepts and vie for cash prizes. Winners are chosen by community vote, Zooppa's staff and the client, who can choose to launch a campaign using any of the ads.
AAA Washington, based in Bellevue, hired Sotteria Wetsch as a membership accounting manager. Wetsch has worked in the accounting field for 15 years and recently worked at Microsoft as a contracted project coordinator.
Northwest Hospital & Medical Center hired Lynn Keenan, Brian McInnes and Kim Wheeling as new physicians. Keenan is a specialist in pulmonary disease, critical care internal medicine and sleep medicine and is joining Northwest Respiratory Associates. McInnes is a podiatric surgeon and is joining The Sports Medicine Clinic. Wheeling is a specialist in internal medicine and is joining Olympic Medical Center.
Seattle-based institutional real estate investment advisor Kennedy Associates named Michael D. McKee and Jeffrey H. Donahue to its board of directors. McKee retired in September 2008 as CEO of the Irvine Co. in California. Donahue is president and CEO of Enterprise Community Investment in Columbia, Md.
Agents from Century 21 North Homes Realty in Lynnwood are offering classes about mortgage loan modifications to help homeowners avoid foreclosure. The team is led by Michael Killmer, associate broker. Modifcations can include lower interest rates, lowering principal, changing the length of the contract or changing the type of loan. Classes are being scheduled at libraries, community centers and Century 21 North Homes Realty offices. Spanish language classes will also be offered. NAIOP will hold a conference March 11 and 12 called “DevelopGREEN: Sustainable Solutions for Commercial Real Estate” at The Westin Seattle. It will offer education, networking and information on the business case for developing green, as well as the public policy and environmental implications and best practice strategies for projects that are financially successful and sustainable. Topics include site selection, energy-efficient buildings, trends in the carbon market and changes in LEED certification. There will be a tour of sustainable projects in Seattle.
