KEXP

Independent Seattle public broadcaster KEXP was named the official music partner of NHL Seattle. KEXP will lead curation of music for the National Hockey League franchise that begins play in 2021 at Seattle Center Arena.

Mid-Valley Hospital selected health care technology company Cerner to revamp its electronic health record system in a 10-year deal. Mid-Valley Hospital provides acute care, emergency care, surgical services and obstetrics to patients in Okanogan County.

City of Seattle

Mayor Jenny A. Durkan nominated Human Services Department Interim Director Jason Johnson and Seattle Office for Civil Rights Interim Director Mariko Lockhart to permanent positions, pending confirmation by the City Council. Johnson has helped expand emergency shelters and bridge housing in Seattle, and worked in housing and human services for Kent. Lockhart has worked on reforming city policies on harassment, discrimination and other misconduct, and was director of the city's Youth Violence Prevention Initiative.

Washington State Parks

Washington State Parks' online reservation system will be down from Jan. 8 through 15 to switch to a new system that will be launched Jan. 16. During that transition week, all state park campsites, day-use shelters and accommodations will be first come, first served and payable at the park by cash only. On Jan. 16, people can use the website http://www.parks.state.wa.us to reserve campsites, cabins, yurts, some vacation homes, shelters and group camps up to nine months out.

Spire offers fewer, bigger units

The unit count for Spire has gone from 347 to 337.

The deep triangular pit at 600 Wall St. will eventually give way to the 41-story Spire condo tower. Realogics Sotheby's International Realty, which is handling sales, says the unit count has gone from 347 to 337, and the sizes have gone up. A four-bedroom unit on the 35th floor with 2,635 square feet recently sold for $4.35 million. About 20 percent of the units are pre-sold or reserved. One-bedrooms start in the high $600,000s. Laconia and its Chinese partner Vanke are developing the project, which was designed by VIA Architecture and is being built by PCL Construction. Completion is expected in late 2020. The sales center is at 2218 Fifth Ave.

CBRE scores big Richland sale

CBRE said its Portland team of Phil Oester, Joe Nydahl and Josh McDonald sold a 94-unit apartment building in Richland for $17.75 million to an unnamed private investor. The seller was Evergreen Housing Development Group, and the deal was worth about $188,829 per unit. The one-year-old complex, called 575 Columbia, overlooks Columbia Pointe golf course. Oester said the Tri-Cities multifamily market is very strong.

CREW's January topic: Dexter Yard

CREW's Jan. 10 luncheon will focus on BioMed Realty's full-block SLU project Dexter Yard, which is rumored to be leased to Facebook. The 515,000-square-foot, 15-story project is now under construction. The panel will be Mike Ruhl from BioMed Realty, Laura Ford from Colliers, Shannon Gaffney from SkB Architects, which designed the project, and Dan Kahn from Turner Construction, which is building it. JKL buys Everett retail

Colliers said it partnered with DBW Private Brokerage to help Canadian firm JKL Real Estate Investment LP make its first U.S. investment. Everett Mall Way Plaza has 30,000 square feet, and sold for $6.2 million. The seller was Robinson Properties & Investments LLC. Colliers' Xinxin Li and DBW's Godwin Moy were on the buy side. The seller's broker wasn't named. The property is near Everett Mall. Li said there are plans for a third building on the property.

$22M refi deal in Pullman

Newmark's Spokane office has secured $21.75 million in refinancing for the new 281-unit Birch Hills Apartments in Pullman, which primarily serves students at Washington State University. Demetri Koston arranged the 12-year, fixed-rate loan from an unnamed local bank; it carries a 30-year amortization schedule. The first four years of the non-recourse loan are interest-only.
