Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Kraken named Smartsheet as an official presenting partner of both organizations, and the title partner for Rink 2 at the soon-to-open Kraken training center in Seattle. In addition to the presenting partnership agreement, Climate Pledge Arena and the Seattle Kraken continue to grow their investment in Smartsheet as a technology platform and to build work management solutions. The Seattle Kraken are the National Hockey League's newest franchise, set to play their inaugural season in 2021-2022 at Climate Pledge Arena at Seattle Center, developed by Oak View Group. Climate Pledge Arena will be the first net zero certified arena in the world.
Sequitur Labs has been recognized in the 2021 Digital Innovator Awards by industry analyst firm Intellyx. The award honors vendors that support enterprise digital transformation. Sequitur was selected for its IoT platform that enables customers to design and build security into embedded industrial or home devices. The company's EmSPARK Security Suite provides network device manufacturers with the ability to protect against compromise or attack while still providing the ability to update and enhance devices in the field. Sequitur Labs is based in Fall City.
ZoomInfo announced the launch of its Business Contact Preference Registry (BCPR), a global database of opt-out requests processed by ZoomInfo available to other business-to-business (B2B) data providers. The BCPR is a consumer-friendly initiative and the latest in the company's efforts to elevate privacy standards across the B2B data industry. According to Bubba Nunnery, ZoomInfo's senior director of privacy and public policy, the BCPR offers businesses a convenient way to prioritize privacy by supplying the entire B2B data industry with a ready-made list of consumer opt-outs. Vancouver-based ZoomInfo a go-to-market intelligence solution for more than 20,000 companies worldwide.
Amazon Web Services announced that Canadian firm BMO Financial Group has selected AWS as its preferred, strategic cloud provider. BMO will use AWS to modernize its banking platforms and build digital financial services applications as part of the company's ongoing digital transformation. With over 12 million customers and $950 billion in assets, BMO is the eighth-largest bank in North America. BMO is moving strategic workloads to AWS that support its retail and commercial banking, investment banking, and wealth management operations. The bank is also migrating its online and mobile banking applications to AWS.

ZoomInfo, a provider of go-to-market intelligence solutions, has acquired Insent, a conversational marketing platform that identifies website visitors in real time, and uses artificial intelligence and advanced lead routing rules to initiate real-time conversations. Powered by Insent's chatbot technology, ZoomInfo Chat will allow teams to conversationalize the buying experience. Teams can accelerate the sales process by identifying, routing and connecting prospects to the right account owners in real time. Teams will be able to engage with visitors by using Insent's existing integrations within their customer relationship management platforms, marketing automation systems and collaboration software. Founded in 2018, Insent is based in Seattle, and has offices in Canada and India. ZoomInfo is headquartered in Vancouver.
In recognition of its innovation and creativity in connecting people and work, staffing company PeopleReady received seven NYX MarCom Awards presented by the International Awards Associate. PeopleReady scored top honors for its communications, marketing and digital transformation efforts in the international competition which featured more than 2,000 entrants. PeopleReady was acknowledged with three Grand awardsfor its internal communications campaign aimed at driving employee engagement in the company's new culture framework; for its website redesign; and for its JobStack app which helped job seekers connect to opportunities amid the pandemic and aiding businesses in navigating an unpredictable climate. PeopleReady's brand refresh, which focuses on its new “Within Reach” brand promise, earned a gold award. The Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) ranked Amazon as the No. 1 U.S. company investing in America. For the second year in a row, Amazon placed first on PPI's “Investment Heroes” list, an annual study that identifies the Top 25 American companies investing in the United States. PPI estimates that Amazon invested $34 billion in American infrastructure in 2020, which led to the creation of more than 400,000 direct jobs by Amazon last year alone. In 2020, Amazon opened more than 150 delivery stations, fulfillment centers, and sortation centers in dozens of communities; invested in the development of more than 20 new solar and wind farms; opened more than 45 physical retail options; expanded its Tech Hub locations and started construction of its second headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. Amazon also continued to invest in prototype manufacturing facilities in Redmond for Project Kuiper, an Amazon initiative that will launch a constellation of low earth orbit satellites to offer high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Seattle-based Lund Opsahl hired Alissa Capuano, Claire Cyra, Mike Augustine and Scott Schroeder as engineers; Jason Parker, Julie Kerlin and Sam Pelelo-Ray as BIM technicians; and Margaret Clark as an administrative assistant. Capuano holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Seattle University. She began as an intern with Lund Opsahl and has been involved with the Washington State Labor and Industries/Washington State Department of Agriculture Lab and Training Center in Tumwater and the Buxton Center for Bainbridge Performing Arts. Cyra has a master's in civil engineering from the University of Washington and is working on the new UW Behavioral Health Teaching Hospital at Northwest Hospital and the mixed-use Orenda building at Othello Square in Seattle. Augustine has over 14 years of structural design and project management experience in the industry. His work at Lund Opsahl includes 16-bed and 48-bed behavioral health facilities in Centralia and Vancouver for the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services and construction support services on building projects for a local high-tech client.
Schroeder holds a bachelor's in architectural engineering from Kansas State University and has four years of engineering experience. He has been on Lund Opsahl's team for the UW Softball Performance Center and the new Encompass Northwest Snoqualmie Children's Clinic. Parker has 20 years of experience, and his work at Lund Opsahl includes a new townhome project for the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe in Auburn, the historic Byrd Barr Place Renovation (Fire House 23) in Seattle, and the new 100 Multnomah Office Tower in Portland. Kerlin has a studio art degree from the University of Redlands and CAD and BIM certifications from North Seattle College. She has been working on the Olympic College's Shop Building renovation, the new Covington New Life Church campus and PAWS Wildlife Campus in Snohomish. Pelelo-Ray has six years of CAD and BIM experience and is working on the Tacoma Medical Center Medical Office Building addition and upgrades for the Seattle Repertory Theatre's Bagley Wright Theatre. Clark has a bachelor's in international studies and English from Texas A&M University. Clark provides administration and marketing support and social media updates and was involved in the firm's recent website redesign. Lund Opsahl provides structural and seismic engineering services.




Seattle-based Magnusson Klemencic Associates promoted Joshua Mouras to senior associate and Kelsey Rose Price, Devin Daniel and Alex Wiley to associate. Mouras' portfolio of engineering design work includes buildings as tall as 67 stories and as large as 5.5 million square feet. He was hired in 2008. His projects include the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center expansion in New York, Salesforce Tower in San Francisco and the Washington State Convention Center addition in Seattle. Price was hired in 2013. She is one of Building Design+Construction magazine's 40 Under 40 honorees for 2020, and was involved in the development of the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator, a free and open-access tool that helps identify lower embodied carbon building materials in an effort to reduce overall emissions during the design and construction of a project. Her work has included developing carbon reduction standards for Amazon and Hines, Pike Place Market MarketFront Entrance in Seattle and St. Regis Chicago in Illinois. Daniel has designed Class-A office buildings as large as 2.7 million square feet and residential towers as tall as 61 stories. He was hired in 2012 and was the design engineer for the Buckling-Restrained Mega-Braced tower at Oceanwide Center in San Francisco, and key engineer in the implementation of SpeedCore, the technology used in construction of Rainier Square Tower in Seattle. Wiley has worked on large-scale projects such as hotels, stadiums and high rise office towers in the United States and the Philippines. He joined MKA in 2014. His projects have included the Salt Lake City Convention Center Hotel Tower, and Dominion Headquarters Tower at 600 Canal Place in Richmond, Virginia. MKA is a structural and civil engineering firm.



Seattle-based Sazan Environmental Services hired Tom Bowen and Thanh Pham as commissioning engineers in the Seattle office and Julia Stong as a project coordinator in Portland. Bowen has had a 15-year career operating and maintaining Naval submarine nuclear power plant systems. His current commissioning projects include Olympia High School in Olympia, Highline High School in Des Moines, and electrical upgrades at Washington Corrections Center in Shelton. Pham holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Washington State University. She is currently commissioning West Woodland Elementary School in Seattle and Woodside Elementary School in Bothell, and helping with projects under the Seattle Building Tune-Up Ordinance, which mandates buildings meet energy and water efficiency measures. Stong holds a bachelor's in sociology from WSU and has worked in the AEC industry for three years. Her recent projects include the Seattle Public Schools facility condition and learning environment assessments, a value engineering study for Terminal Park Elementary School in Seattle, and a School for the Blind constructability review for the State of Washington DES. Sazan Environmental Services helps facility owners optimize infrastructure and building performance through third-party consulting services.
The Par 4 Kids Golf Tournament will be held July 23, 2021 at the Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course. This shot-gun scramble tournament supports the Recreation Benefit Fund. ​The city of Lynnwood Recreation Benefit Fund (RBF) is a financial assistance program funded by the city, local businesses and other organizations. RBF provides financial support for children 17 years and younger and for disabled adults who reside within the city. The Lynnwood Parks and Recreation Foundation has contributed over $75,000 to the RBF through donations of Par 4 Kids participants since 2010. 100% of the proceeds raised by the event go directly back to the RBF. Seattle-based ExtraHop, a provider of cloud-native network detection and response, has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Bain Capital Private Equity and Crosspoint Capital Partners in a strategic transaction valued at $900 million. Bain Capital is a leading investor in technology companies, with 22 offices on four continents. Crosspoint Capital is a private equity firm focused on cybersecurity, privacy, and infrastructure software sectors. ExtraHop CEO Arif Kareem and co-founders Jesse Rothstein, chief technology officer, and Raja Mukerji, chief customer officer, will continue in their respective roles. Rothstein and Mukerji will also remain significant investors in the company. The transaction is expected to close in the summer of 2021 and is subject to customary closing conditions, including receipt of regulatory approvals. Qatalyst Partners is serving as the exclusive financial advisor to ExtraHop, and Wilson Sonsini is serving as legal counsel. Morgan Stanley is serving as the financial advisor to Bain Capital and Crosspoint Capital, and Ropes & Gray is serving as legal counsel. PwC is serving as the accounting advisor to Bain Capital.
Qumulo announced the expansion of its executive team through the appointment of Jonathan Maltos as vice president of people. In this role, Maltos is responsible for expanding global hiring and spearheading employee engagement and development initiatives, and will play a key role in accelerating the company's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. Maltos brings more than 20 years of human resources leadership experience with talent acquisition, learning and development, retention and employee relations. He joins Qumulo from gaming company, Big Fish Games, where he served as the vice president of HR and led the company's people operations through several business transformations and acquisitions. Maltos has also held numerous HR leadership and consulting roles at Aon Hewitt, Darigold and Washington Mutual Bank. Qumulo is a data storage company headquartered in Seattle.
