Opus Northwest let its option on a downtown Tacoma development site lapse last week, but a Pierce County official said he thinks Opus remains interested in the Pacific Steps site.
Opus had renewed the six-month option last May as the market headed into its steep decline. But the Nov. 30 deadline "has come and gone," said Dan Cagle, Pierce County's director of facilities management. "They have made no attempt to renew the agreement. I've been playing phone tag with Opus and the sense I have is they're still interested, but not at the same terms."
