Walkable places are still all the rage — for renters, developers and investors — but some people in those groups are turning to older, suburban-style apartments to escape the high prices in hot areas.
According to a search of Dupre + Scott Apartment Advisors' database, there have been 69 sales of large apartment buildings — those with more than 100 units — in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties since the start of 2013, and 44 of them were suburban-style garden apartments.
