Why would you want to buy and preserve a cauldron of disease?
Bars, nightclubs and restaurants were ordered closed statewide on March 16, owing to the coronavirus pandemic. Among them were the landmarked Showbox, at 1426 First Ave. in downtown Seattle, and Re-bar, at 1114 Howell St. in the Denny Triangle. Both properties have been on the market for some time, but neither venue will be allowed to resume business until Phase 4 of the state's tiered reopening plan — which could be many months ahead.
