Steven Hatzman, Troy Leland and Tony Rona joined the Bellevue office of Mohr Partners, a real estate consulting firm. Hatzman oversees services for corporate real estate clients, with a focus on Fortune 1000 companies. Leland heads the tech sector, specializing in interactive media, software, Internet, and e-commerce firms. Rona leads the health care and industrial sectors.


Judson H. Clendaniel and Keven Russell joined Kidder Mathews' Bellevue office in the valuation advisory division. Clendaniel's past assignments include Nintendo, GE, Boeing and Seattle Genetics. He helped write the Appraisal Institute's textbook “Appraising Industrial Properties.” Russell was an appraiser with Auble, Jolicoeur & Gentry in Spokane.
The Seattle chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors named Wilma Warshak of Washington Real Estate industrial broker of the year, Jesse Ottele of CBRE office broker of the year and Jon Hallgrimson, also of CBRE, investment broker of the year.
The Institute of Real Estate Management Foundation presented John W. Magnuson, president of Magnuson Management Co. of Lakewood, with the Lloyd D. Hanford Sr. Distinguished Faculty Award. Magnuson is an IREM faculty member emeritus. He has held IREM leadership positions and taught IREM courses throughout the world. He is a founding trustee of the Washington Center for Real Estate Research, and served the Washington State Investment Board and its $85 billion in retirement funds.
Enterprise Community Partners chose Bellwether to serve as an Enterprise Green Communities technical assistance provider. Seattle-based Bellwether, formerly Housing Resources Group, builds and operates affordable apartments. It also offers services to other affordable housing developers, and oversees energy audit services. Enterprise Community Partners awarded Bellwether a $25,000 grant for “portfolio positioning.”
Janine Lind joined Guardian, a Portland-based real estate management, development and investment company, as senior vice president of operations. She oversees the property management business and is a member of the executive team.
The Washington Housing Finance Commission and federal agencies announced a pilot program to reduce duplicate inspections of federally subsidized housing in Washington and five other states. The program will be launched Tuesday. Developers and owners often work with different federal agencies to house the lowest-income tenants, and this means extra inspections. In an average year, agencies in the six states conduct about 24,000 inspections at 11,000 properties. The pilot program is expected to eliminate up to 13,000 inspections.
Seattle-based Zillow acquired substantially all the assets of Diverse Solutions, an Irvine, Calif.-based company that helps real estate agents with marketing and websites, for about $7.8 million in cash and stock. Diverse Solutions' software services include listings and property search for the Web and mobile platforms.
