Hal Ferris of Spectrum Development Solutions is starting a two-year term as chair of the ULI Seattle District Council. The Urban Land Institute, established in 1936, has offices in the United States, Europe and Asia, and about 35,000 members worldwide. Members include developers, investors, lenders, engineers, architects and public officials.
NAIOP Developing Leaders will hold its fourth annual Oktoberfest networking event Oct. 14 at the Attic Alehouse & Eatery in Madison Park from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Food and drink tickets are included with registration. Jeff Davis of Davis Property & Investment in Kent was one of the 2009 recipients of the national NAIOP Developing Leaders Award. Sixteen people in the commercial real estate field won the award. Paragon Real Estate Advisors recently sold a three-unit apartment building at 520 N. 47th St. in Seattle. Paragon said the building sold at 94 percent of the list price for a final price of $650,000. Brian Platt and Cathy Jeney represented the seller.
NAIOP's October South Sound breakfast meeting will be Friday, Oct. 9 on “Don't Be Caught Underwater: What do FEMA map revisions mean to property values in Pierce County?”An expert panel will discuss the revisions and potential impacts to commercial real estate markets. Regency Centers, a national owner, operator and developer of grocery-anchored and community shopping centers, recently named Mac Chandler managing director of the Pacific Region. He will be responsible for acquisitions and development projects in California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, and will be based in Los Angeles.
Phillips Real Estate Services and Northwest Commercial Real Estate Services have merged their commercial property management divisions to create Metro Property Services. Both Phillips and Northwest will handle their multi-family properties independently. Metro Principal Morris Groberman said the company will specialize in office, retail, commercial and industrial property, as well as consulting, opinions of value, brokerage and owner representation. Kevin McNulty manages business operations. He was with Madison Marquette in Seattle. Groberman has been in the commercial real estate business for over 23 years.
Andrea Barnett joined the Keller Williams Realty Seattle Metro West Market Center office. She has been in the real estate industry for a little over a year. The office is at 4452 California Ave. S.W.
HUD Deputy Secretary Ron Sims, a Spokane native, will give a keynote address on the second day of the 16th annual Housing Washington conference Sept. 29 and 30 at the Spokane Convention Center.
