Coal delivery system wins construction award

    Continuously moving railcars drop their loads of coal from bottom-hinged doors into a hopper. Conveyor belts then move the coal to a pile for distribution at TransAlta’s Centralia power plant.

    CORVALLIS, ORE.-based Greenberry International's reconstruction of the coal delivery system at the TransAlta power plant in Centralia was under budget, on time and 300 percent more efficient. Greenberry says the investment paid for itself in five months.
