The Seattle Marathon Association announced that Harrisdirect will return as title sponsor of its 34th annual Seattle Marathon and named the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Puget Sound as the event's beneficiary. The marathon events are scheduled for Nov. 28-30. The Seattle Marathon is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon and is expected to draw 11,000 runners this year. Tracy Morey joined First Horizon Home Loans as a loan officer. Morey previously held positions as branch manager and lending officer with Horizon Bank. She will be based in Lynnwood.

The state Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development appointed Marijo Olson assistant director, community services division, and Stephen Buxbaum assistant director, housing services division. Olson is an attorney and was previously vice president of Skagit Valley College and worked as a community service administrator for the Department of Social and Health Services in Clallam, Jefferson and Whatcom counties. Buxbaum is currently managing director of community development programs at the Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development and previously worked as the executive director of the state's Rural Development Council.
The Seattle Theater Group named Tom Douglas Restaurants its exclusive restaurateur at the Paramount and Moore theaters beginning in August. Tom Douglas Restaurants is owned and operated by Tom Douglas who opened the Dahlia Lounge in 1989 and also runs Etta's Seafood and the Palace Kitchen. Douglas will be responsible for food, beverage and catering operations at the two theatres, which are run by the nonprofit Seattle Theater Group.
The Seattle District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration is partnering with the Washington State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to assist Hispanic business owners. Statistics show that Hispanic businesses are the fastest growing market segment in the Seattle metro area and in 24 of the state's 39 counties. Under this partnership, the Seattle SBA will provide one-stop business assistance at minimal or no cost to Hispanic business owners.
Black Lowe & Graham, a full-service intellectual property law firm, will relocate its office in September. The new office will be on the 48th floor at 701 Fifth Ave. in Seattle.
The Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants named Clothier & Head as its firm of the year. The firm was recently named as one of the WSCPA's top 100 CPA firms.
Clark Nuber has added five people to its Bellevue accounting firm: Kimberly Berardi as team accounting specialist; Dana Culbertson and Aaron Jacobs to the audit staff; and Wendy Cummings and Catherine Moran to the administrative staff.
