CFO Selections, a Bellevue-based finance and accounting consulting firm, hired Tom McDowell as a new senior associate. McDowell has 20 years experience and recently co-founded Windswept Capital, an investment banking firm.
Seattle-based family law firm McKinley Irvin hired Elizabeth Leary as an associate attorney. Leary worked at Wechsler Becker in Seattle.
Mediability, a Seattle-based media buying agency, hired Melinda Moseler as a media planner and buyer. Moseler has 10 years experience and has worked at DDB, Cole & Weber and Nordstrom.
Joe Mason, Seth Portteus and Dave Portteus have created and designed a new board game called Washington Wine Trails. The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission hired Anne Solwick as director of the regulatory services division. She fills a vacancy at the UTC created by the retirement of Chris Rose. Solwick is a former agency director and an attorney with 10 years of state agency policy experience.
Foster Pepper said Jeff Frank, member in the law firm's construction and litigation practice groups, has been appointed chair of the Defense Research Institute's Judicial Task Force. DRI is the national organization of 22,000 defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel. The task force focuses on issues affecting judicial salaries, court funding, courthouse security, appointment methods of judges and unwarranted criticism of judges.
Jim Stanley has joined KeyBank as a financial advisor at the Bellevue office. Stanley has five years experience in the banking industry and was portfolio manager for commercial real estate construction lending at First Horizon Bank.
Chris Rivera has been named president of the Washington Biotechnology & Biomedical Association, succeeding retiring president Jack Faris. Rivera will begin his duties Jan. 1, 2009. He has 20 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and was recently founder and CEO of Hyperion Therapeutics. Faris joined the WBBA in February 2005.
