A cool way to eliminate snow and ice

    Trucks may not have to trudge dozens of treacherous miles through the snow to de-ice a dangerous stretch of Interstate 90 near Vantage when freezing temps set in next winter.

    Jennene Ring, WSDOT traffic engineer, and Kirk Berg, WSDOT project engineer, stand by the stretch of I-90 east of Vantage that the state plans to install an automatic de-icing station on. A series of nozzles will dispense de-icing agents over a half-mile section of the freeway.
