Design Perspectives -- Urban villages: What's working, what's not

  • Seattle is evaluating how well the urban village strategy is working as part of updating the 20-year comprehensive plan.

    Cities are full of big problems, but villages are easy to love.

    So how about “urban villages?” That's the name of a planning strategy for channeling housing and jobs into existing commercial centers that are walkable and served by transit. It's a no-brainer.
