WSDOT tries out concrete cracker on I-5

  • The machine will allow crews to fix a 12-mile section of the freeway without having to replace it at a higher cost.

    The concrete cracker is a guillotine-like device attached to the back of a truck.

    WSDOT is teaming with Granite Construction of Everett to test a relatively new way of repairing cracked concrete panels on 12 miles of northbound Interstate 5 north of Burlington.
