Rich Troiani will oversee operations at two Seattle restaurants: Waterfront, Pier 70 and Chez Gus. Troiani is a managing partner of the restaurants. Most recently, Troiani managed the opening of Portland's El Gaucho. Chez Gus opens this week at Pier 70.
Elliott's Oyster House appointed Mike Bryan executive chef. Bryan previously served as executive chef at Palomino. The restaurant, according to Fortune Magazine, is one of the top five oyster bars in America.
Barry Baldwin has been named the new director of business development, harbor services for Foss Maritime Co. Baldwin previously served as regional director in Southern California. Dave Selga will succeed Baldwin in that position. Selga was previously marine superintendent. Both will be based in Long Beach, Calif. Foss provides ship assist, tanker escort, petroleum transportation, and regional towing services in all major ports on the West Coast.
HomeStreet Bank has opened its ninth branch on Main Street in historic Old Bellevue. Milt Fritts will lead sales and operations of the branch as branch manager.
Daniel R. Dwight has been named president and CEO of TSET of Lake Oswego, Ore. Dwight will succeed Jeffery D. Wilson as part of a reorganization where TSET will focus on its subsidiary, Kronos Air. Wilson will remain on the board of directors and act as consultant. Kronos develops and manufactures air filtration systems, and is currently re-evaluating its testing of a technology that showed the ability to reduce an active airborne virus similar to anthrax.
Community Psychiatric Clinic was recently chosen as a second place recipient of the 2001 Lilly Reintegration Awards in the housing category. The awards recognize the achievements of people and programs that provide support for those with schizophrenia and related disorders to reintegrate into their communities. In addition, the clinic’s Harbor House Safe Haven was one of only three safe havens chosen nationwide by the Office of Housing and Urban Development to be featured in a video documentary. The Community Psychiatric Clinic provides specialized housing for low-income mentally ill people, aiding the transition from the streets to housing at 38 locations in the Seattle area

Thomas O. Daniel has been promoted to senior vice president of discovery research and Kendall Mohler has been promoted to vice president of biological sciences at Immunex. Daniel will be responsible for overseeing molecular research, combining it with pre-clinical therapeutic development. Mohler will coordinate the company's pre-clinical research and clinical and marketing. Daniel was Immunex's vice president of oncology and vascular biology. Mohler was senior director of Immunex's immunology department.
Microsoft hired Joanne Bradford to lead advertising sales for its MSN Internet services division. Bradford was director of North American advertising sales for Business Week. She will be in charge of efforts to draw advertisements to Microsoft's MSN Web portal and other online offerings.
Verizon has named Allan Thoms to the newly created position of vice president of public policy and external affairs for the Northwest region. Previously, Thoms was chairman of the Iowa Utilities Board. He will join the company Oct. 29 and be responsible for regulatory, governmental and external affairs in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
New officers of Pacific Northwest Christmas Tree Association's board of directors are: president Ken Scholz; vice president Stan Low, Highland Farm of Oregon; vice president John Tillman, Northwest Plantations; and secretary/treasurerPhil Hunter, The Wreath Works.
Janet Westin has joined Wells Fargo's Foreign Exchange office in Seattle as a foreign exchange advisor. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Westin served as a foreign exchange advisor for Bank of America.
AFC Enterprises hired David Reed as corporate counsel for its Seattle Coffee Company subsidiary. Seattle Coffee company is parent company to Seattle's Best Coffee and Torrefazione Italia Coffee. Reed will focus on the company's distribution, manufacturing and franchising transactions. Previously, Reed was director of legal affairs for ePods.
The Siefkes Group has recently added IntraUSA and Triadd Software to its business-to-business public relations client roster. The Issaquah-based company's clients include Kenworth Truck, Xantrex Technology, Peregrine Systems and PACCAR Leasing.
Pawan Gupta is the new president of Internet Motors. Gupta, formerly with Microsoft, will oversee all aspects of services and production for Internet Motors from its new headquarters in Seattle. He will head the development of proprietary, entertainment-driven services, providing drivers with a variety of entertainment, information, safety, security and navigation services. Internet Motors, a telematics software and services developer for the automotive industry, also has offices in Aliso Viejo and Palo Alto, Calif.
Marshall and Associates and Hansen Information Technologies have entered into a strategic alliance. Hansen provides application solutions to assist management operations of e-government. Marshall develops geographic information systems software. Under this alliance, Marshall will be the exclusive provider of geographic information systems software products and services to Hansen. The Olympia-based companies will work together to produce intuitive, interactive maps.
