Davis Wright Tremaine

Jay D. Hull was named partner in the Portland office of Davis Wright Tremaine, a Seattle-based law firm. Hull, who left Davis in 1998 to work with XO Communications, rejoins the firm as a part of its corporate finance practice.

Kibble & Prentice

Kibble & Prentice, a Seattle-based financial services firm, named Pat Russell vice president. Russell is an account executive in the firm's Property Casualty Division.

Lane Powell Spears Lubersky

Lane Powell Spears Lubersky, a Seattle-based law firm, named Steven B. Winters partner in the Intellectual Property and Business Groups. Winters leads the intellectual contracting and licensing practice for the Seattle office and is the former director of research and strategic planning for Bozell Worldwide.

DFK International/USA

DFK International/USA, an association of independent CPA firms, named Walter R. Smith president. Smith is the managing shareholder of Seattle-based Martin Ross & Smith, a CPA and business advisory firm. DFK is based in Washington, D.C.

American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a national association of lawyers specializing in trust and estate law, named Wendy S. Goffe and Marcia K. Fujimoto fellows of the college. Goffe and Fujimoto are attorneys with Graham and Dunn, a Seattle-based law firm. ACTEC is based in Los Angeles.

The Hotel Group

Edmond Lee, CEO of The Hotel Group of Edmonds, says the company intends to buy as many as six hotels in 2004 through an exclusive partnership with Hotel Realty Advisors. The strategy is to buy under-performing, full-service properties of 125 to 400 rooms. The company typically renovates and/or re-brands its properties. The Hotel Group has managed 87 hotels throughout the United States since 1984. Hotel Realty Advisors, which was established in 1996, has sold or financed more than $200 million in hotels and other real property.

CoStar Group

CoStar Group has signed a renewal agreement with CB Richard Ellis to provide information services to the brokerage's 117 offices nationwide. The deal combines and expands separate agreements signed with CB Richard Ellis and Insignia/ESG, which was acquired by CB Richard Ellis in July.

Triad Associates

Triad Associates, a Kirkland land development consulting firm, has promoted Jeff Cox from director of site planning and landscape architecture to vice president. Katherine Hilde has been hired as a landscape designer. Cox, who has 21 years' experience working with land developers and home builders, is responsible for increasing the firm's presence in the Puget Sound region. He currently is working for CamWest Development on two projects: Shamrock, a low-impact development project near Renton, and Stacy, a community in Kirkland. Hilde has four years of industry experience.

Pacific Ridge Homes

Pacific Ridge Homes has donated $5,000 to buy turkeys for the Everett Volunteers of America Food Bank and Family Support Services. Pacific Ridge Homes has built nearly 200 homes this year in Snohomish County and recently broke ground for four new communities.

Marcus & Millichap

The 24-unit Holden Court Apartments, 931 S.W. Holden St., Seattle, has sold for $1.53 million. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vierthaler sold to Mr. & Mrs. John Salinas. Spencer Hurst and Robert Sheppard of Marcus & Millichap represented the sellers, and David J. Smith, also of Marcus & Millichap, represented the buyers.

Re/Max International

Re/Max International officials say their agents helped more than 14,000 clients in Washington buy or sell homes during the first nine months of 2003. The sales totaled $3.1 billion, up 31 percent from the same period in 2002. Brad Hanks vice president and regional director of Re/Max Northwest, says the company has improved its technology support systems for agents.

Windermere Real Estate

Windermere Real Estate has launched Premium Agent Web Sites, which lets agents build individual sites to help market properties and communicate with clients. Company officials said Windermere is preparing more technology advances to be released next year.

NAIOP

NAIOP will host the Developer Forum: What Can We Expect in 2004 at 7 a.m. Dec. 17 at the Bellevue Club, 11200 S.E. Sixth. Seattle Works

Seattle Works, a not-for-profit volunteer organization that encourages people in their 20s and 30s to get involved in their community, added five new members to its board of directors. They are Shelley Caine, client program manager at Shaw Environmental; Susan Chang, research study coordinator at the University of Washington; Jennifer Draper, program manager/strategic initiatives at Starbucks Corp.; Lisa Danielson, project manager at Gogerty Stark Marriott; and Giao Duong, manager of Accenture.

Sweeney Conrad

Sweeney Conrad, a Bellevue-based certified public accounting firm, hired Michelle Estes and Dustin Jensen to its audit staff.

Benton-Franklin County Superior Court

Carrie Runge, senior Benton County prosecutor, was appointed to a newly created seat on the Benton-Franklin County Superior Court. Runge has been with the prosecutor's office for more than 16 years.

Bastyr University

Bastyr University, a university for natural health sciences based in Kenmore, named Deborah Lantz associate dean of the neuropathic medicine department. Lantz, the former interim dean, is a graduate of Bastyr and has held a variety of positions there.

Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness

Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness, a Seattle-based intellectual property law firm, added five new associates. They are Tineka J. Quinton and Thomas F. Broderick in the biotechnology practice group; Emily C. Peyser in the chemical practice group; and Donna J. Coningsby and Clint J. Feekes in the computer software practice group.

Washington State University Spokane

Michael Hendryx was named director of the Washington Institute for Mental Illness Research and Training, Eastern Branch, at Washington State University Spokane. Hendryx, an associate professor of health policy and administration, and associate professor of psychology, is the former assistant director of WIMIRT.
