The Low Income Housing Institute is laying plans to build itself a seven-story building next to its existing one-story headquarters on First Avenue in Seattle's Belltown area. A surface parking lot owned by LIHI occupies the site now.
The non-profit corporation that builds and manages low-income and affordable housing would construct 60 "workforce" apartments on top of two levels: a floor for LIHI's offices and the new Belltown Neighborhood Center on the first floor, said LIHI executive director Sharon Lee. Two floors of underground parking are planned.
