Megan O'Brien recently joined Callison Architecture as marketing director, responsible for planning, development and analysis of market direction and sales performance.
O'Brien has 13 years of experience in marketing management and programming tailored to multi-market professional service firms. Prior to joining Callison, she was director of marketing at W&H Pacific, a Northwest engineering firm.
Core Design of Bellevue announced David E. Cayton has accepted an associate ownership with the firm. Cayton graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor of science in civil engineering in 1992 and returned to secure his master of business administration in 2000 from Seattle University. He provides engineering design and project management services for a variety of developments including Maplewood Estates, Snoqualmie Ridge and Riverview at Kent. Cayton specializes in storm water control, utility design, and project management for single family plats, multifamily residential and condominium developments, as well as office and industrial parks.
Paul Kinley has joined the Portland architectural firm of Thomas Hacker and Associates Architects. TH&A is nationally known for their designs of higher education buildings, libraries, museums and other public use spaces. Kinley joined TH&A in May, and his current work for the firm includes the classroom and office building for the new University of California campus in Merced. Prior to joining TH&A, Kinley worked for Portland architectural firms BOORA Architects and Allied Works Architecture. While at BOORA, he served as senior designer on the Mesa Art Center and the Center for the Performing Arts for the University of California, Davis. The hiring of Kinley follows the recent promotion of Becca Cavell to associate and Laura Ticer to marketing director.
John McClellan recently joined Everett's Perteet Engineering as a senior project manager. He has 14 years of experience in project supervision, specializing in complex storm management challenges and site development, including grading, sanitary sewer and water distribution design. His primary responsibilities will include utility design for water and sewer, grading and storm water treatment and drainage design. He also brings experience in hazardous materials management, environmental design and habitat restoration. He has designed projects for the Corps of Engineers, city of Seattle, Washington State Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Navy.
Paul Inghram was recently named senior planner at Berryman & Henigar in Seattle. Inghram is providing city planner services to the city of Sultan. He previously was with David Nemens and Associates, where he provided a broad range of services to cities and counties in the state.
Jon Stack has been named director of engineering. Stack is project manager for the design of a trunk sewer for the city of Marysville and for the Waverly Beach Park Lift Station rehabilitation for the city of Kirkland. He was principal of S.T. Engineering for 20 years, where he specialized in providing project management and principal engineer services to utility districts and cities.
Berryman & Henigar is a municipal professional services firm that serves the Northwest. The firm also has offices in California, Nevada and Florida.
Bill Allen was recently promoted to Grade VIII senior project manager at Berger/ABAM Engineers in Federal Way. Allen has been responsible for project management for the planning, design, analysis and cost estimation of new and existing structures. He has supervised and performed condition surveys, testing, and field inspection services for a variety of heavy construction contracts. Janice Zahn has been promoted to Grade VI project engineer. Zahn has 12 years of civil and structural experience, including analysis, design, cost estimating and construction documents review. She has specific experience with public works, waterfront, and offshore projects. Lars Holte has been promoted to Grade V project engineer. Holte has over seven years of experience in the analysis, design and condition survey of commercial and industrial building facilities. In addition, he has a strong background in construction administration and support for concrete, steel and wood-frame structures.
Laura Smith has been named associate at KPFF Consulting Engineers. Smith, a structural engineer with 18 years experience, specializes in bridge, waterfront and civil projects. Her experience includes assessment of existing facilities, structural design of office building and waterfront structures and brick cladding design. Smith leads the brick curtain wall design on Immunex’s Research and Technology Center at Terminal 88. Other recent projects include brick cladding design for the Gregory Building in Portland, the 160 King Street Building in San Francisco, the Cosmos Lynnwood Office Building, the Costco Corporate Headquarters in Issaquah, and the expansion of Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. Previous projects include design of King Street Center and the seismic upgrade of Pier 56. In addition, she has provided structural support for master plan studies for the Washington State Department of Veteran’s Affairs, the Lake Washington School District and the Satsop Nuclear Power Plant.
Economic and Engineering Services announced several additions and promotions. Brad Bogus has joined the Tri-Cities office as a senior engineer. He brings 10 years of experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities. He was project manager for the Lake Stevens Hypolimnetic Aeration Project, which won the Consulting Engineers Council of Washington Grand Design Award in 1995.
Steve Harrison, senior project engineer, recently joined the Bellevue office. He has 16 years of engineering experience, specializing in site development, surface water and construction management skills. Prior to joining EES he was a principal for a small civil/environmental consulting firm in Issaquah. Cyril Larson recently joined the Olympia office as a project engineer. He has 10 years of design experience in planning, evaluation, design and construction management of water and wastewater facilities, and stormwater conveyance and treatment facilities.
Rachel Dwyer joined the Bellevue office as marketing coordinator. Betsy Brower is a new office assistant in the Bellevue office and Amanda Anderson is office manager in the Olympia office.
