Contractor revenues rise as Elwha dams fall

  • Olympic Electric Co. of Port Angeles won its biggest contract ever, requiring it to hire 16 additional workers.

    Workers last week started chipping away on Glines Canyon Dam, one of two dams on the Elwha River scheduled for removal. Cost to remove the Glines Canyon and Elwha River dams, which are west of Port Angeles, is estimated at $27 million.
