Wright Runstad & Co. laid off five staffers and mothballed at least one office project to become the area's first major developer to say the market slowdown looks like more than a temporary glitch.
"We basically have acknowledged that reality," said Chairman Jon Runstad. "It's highly unlikely that the projects we have under development will be able to start in the near future, so we've stopped pre-development expenditures to the greatest extent possible. ... We're matching the staff to the work that we have to get done."
