EDAW

Design director, Seattle: Bob Shrosbree
Size of firm: 24 in Seattle office
Seattle office opened: 1981
Annual revenues: $2.2 million, Seattle
Specialties: Corporate and institutional campus planning, municipal and urban redevelopment

The Seattle office of EDAW, headed by Bob Shrosbree, has maintained steady growth this year, from backlog to staff. San Francisco-based EDAW is the largest land-based planning and design firm in the world, with 20 offices. The firm traditionally offers services in landscape architecture, urban design, land planning, environmental planning, economic development, habitat restoration and terrestrial ecology.

The continuously growing market for institutional campus and corporate campus planning and design is being driven by value on space, a tighter market and less availability of urban land, said Shrosbree. "We need to do master planning and integrate buildings with open space."

Current projects at EDAW include: Reebok International Headquarters in Boston; the Microsoft South Campus in Mountain View, Calif.; the East Capitol Campus Plan in Olympia; the master plan for the Finning International industrial property in Vancouver, B.C.; and the Urban Precinct Plan for Vancouver General Hospital in British Columbia.
