The three-year-old landscape architecture group at Parametrix has grown to eight people, a natural outgrowth of the larger environmental and engineering firm’s work in transportation, wastewater and water resources for the 325-person firm. "It starts at the federal level with the president’s initiatives on community preservation," said principal Kurt Warber. "And everywhere there’s a push toward community livability." The firm recently won an award for the state Route 105 corridor management plan. The highway runs along the south shore of Gray’s Harbor. "It’s just a beautiful roadway," said Warber. Parametrix also completed a corridor management plan for state Route 112 from Port Angeles to Cape Flattery. The landscape group is now working on the Eastside Lake Sammamish trail, which connects two watersheds. Other projects include the Evergreen Park Expansion in Bremerton, a small park next to contaminated property. The group has an on-call agreement with King County Parks.
