Principal: Steve Worthy
Worthy & Associates has not grown since last year, but the work load has been very consistent for the last 10 years, according to principal Steve Worthy. He sees higher demand for athletic fields, streetscapes, gateways, and sites in commercial and residential markets. "We’re spending a little more time in the private sectors," said Worthy. "There’s a lot of grass-roots community activism," he said, and in all sectors, "There is a clear recognition of environmental stewardship related to streams, greenbelts, habitat restoration and shorelines ... Regional growth is driving more thoughtful transportation planning. There is a trend toward accommodating recreational activities." Projects include Seattle School District athletic field upgrades at five different sites. The 320th Street/state Route 99 intersection Gateway in Federal Way, West Riverside Drive Trail and 102nd Avenue Bridge pedestrian improvements in Bothell are going to be done soon. Other projects include Hidden Cove Park on Bainbridge Island, an instructional building replacement at Centralia Community college and Sam Peach Park in Puyallup.
