Spiration

Seattle-based Spiration, Inc., a developer of medical devices for the treatment of lung disease, added Gregory Sessler as CFO. Sessler has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has led four companies through the IPO process. He was CFO for Rosetta Inpharmatics and Sonus Pharmaceuticals.

Port of Tacoma

The Port of Tacoma recently promoted Deborah Givens director of information technology. A 16-year veteran of the Port, she served as manager of IT Technical Support Services and most recently, as acting director of information technology.

GoTech, ExpoAccess

GoTech, Inc., a Web development and Internet consulting firm, acquired ExpoAccess Corp., a Seattle-based provider of Web seminars and online surveys. The acquisition extends GoTech's market reach to include Mexico and Latin America, and strengthens in-house expertise with the addition of former ExpoAccess CEO, Michel Alvarez.

Wells Fargo

Nena Kruger joined Wells Fargo as a business banker at Wells Fargo’s Seattle Industrial location. She focuses on Wells Fargo business customers — primarily manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers — in the West Seattle, industrial and Georgetown areas.

Everett Community College

Everett Community College administrators and the college’s Learning Services Division dedicated EvCC's new computer lab in the Everett Station. The lab, to be called the Learning Depot, is on the fourth floor of the station in downtown Everett.

Bastyr University

Joseph Pizzorno, ND, president emeritus and co-founder of Bastyr University, received the Founder's Award at the National Foundation for Alternative Medicine's (NFAM) fifth anniversary gala recently in Washington D.C. NFAM's goal is to seek out and evaluate effective treatments that are not easily accessible or are currently not available in the United States.

Cutter & Buck

Cutter & Buck appointed three executives to its management organization being formed by CEO Fran Conley. Ernie R. Johnson has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer, and Helen M. Rockey has been appointed executive vice president for markets and products. Theresa S. Treat recently joined as corporate director of human resources. Johnson was senior vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer for Washington Mutual. Rockey was president and CEO of Just For Feet retail chain and was president and CEO of Brooks Sports in Bothell. Treat has been director of human resources at Onvia, Pointshare, Inc., X/O and Horizon Airlines. Cutter & Buck designs and markets upscale sportswear and outerwear.

Seattle Parks and Recreation

Seattle Parks and Recreation has named the city's newest community center the International District/Chinatown Community Center. The center is located at Eighth Avenue South and South Dearborn Street and is be part of the International District Village Square project being developed by the Seattle Chinatown-International District Preservation and Development Authority. The project will also include a library, family housing, offices, retail and parking. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2004.

Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance

Liz Klumpp was voted chair of the board of directors for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. Klumpp is senior policy analyst for Washington's Office of Trade and Economic Development. She will serve a one-year term along with two other elected officers: Mat Northway, manager of Energy Management Services at Eugene Water & Electric Board, treasurer; and Darlene Nemnich, business analyst and program manager at Idaho Power, secretary. The alliance also approved an additional $3.3 million in funding to continue BetterBricks, a network of services and information resources offered to Northwest architects, developers, building owners, engineers and building operators interested in energy-effective building design.

Columbia Bank

Columbia Bank named Dean McSweeney senior vice president and manager of its private banking department. McSweeney was previously vice president with Laird Norton Financial Group. Tacoma's Columbia Bank is a commercial bank providing products and services in Pierce, King, Cowlitz, Kitsap and Thurston counties.

Cutter & Buck

Cutter & Buck appointed Douglas G. Southern and Henry L. Kotkins, Jr. to its board of directors. Southern is a former senior vice president and chief financial officer of Immunex and Pay 'N Pak Stores. Kotkins is currently president and CEO of Skyway Luggage Co. in Seattle. Cutter & Buck designs and markets upscale sportswear and outerwear.

Williams Scotsman

Sunny Shirey and Chris Caraway have been relocated from the Pacific Northwest to positions in the Las Vegas office of Williams Scotsman. Shirey, a sales representative for the company, will serve the southern Nevada area. Caraway, formerly an area manager in the Pacific Northwest, is the new branch manager for the Las Vegas office and will manage the Albuquerque and El Paso offices. Williams Scotsman, headquartered in Baltimore, operates a fleet of mobile office and storage units leased throughout the U.S. and Canada.
