Jones Lang LaSalle

Jones Lang LaSalle named Michael Casolo to lead client services for the Northwest Corporate Solutions division, which helps clients manage the performance and efficiency of property. He has worked with mid-sized corporate clients, and is adding large multi-national clients. Casolo is based in Palo Alto, Calif.

Keller Williams Realty

Joe Spencer is the new Northwest area director for Keller Williams Realty. He helps lead 28 offices with more than 3,000 associates in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. He was president and chief operating officer of John L. Scott Real Estate. James Betzer joined the Seattle Metro West office, specializing in industrial and investment property.

Umpqua Bank

Umpqua expanded its commercial real estate team by hiring Bruce Lawrie and Neil Hodge. Hodge worked at US Bank, and now leads division development in the Puget Sound area. Lawrie, who was with Heritage Bank of Commerce in San Jose, Calif., leads Umpqua's expansion in the Bay Area.

Security Properties

Seattle-based Security Properties, one of the nation's largest multifamily property owners, bought a 408-apartment complex in Tempe, Ariz., called MetroPointe. Security officials would not say how much they paid, but said they used 1031 exchange proceeds from the $42 million sale last year of La Vista apartments in Santa Maria, Calif. Security owns two other Arizona properties in Scottsdale.

NAIOP offers ‘tell-all' on LEED EB

NAIOP's Sustainable Development Committee is offering a “tell-all” roundtable discussion about LEED for existing buildings on April 24 at 7:30 a.m. in Coughlin Porter Lundeen's downtown Seattle office. NAIOP promises a “rare and honest look” at LEED EB from the perspective of owners, consultants and tenants. Topics include financing and competitive dvantages. Panelists are Ric Cochrane of the Preservation Green Lab of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, author and green building consultant Jerry Yudelson, Roger Krage of Gerding Edlen and Brett Phillips of Unico Properties. Capitol Hill Housing fundraiser

Ice cream shop owner Molly Moon Neitzel will be the speaker at Capitol Hill Housing's Top of the Town fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. April 25 in the Sorrento Hotel. She opened the first Molly Moon's four years ago, and today has five shops. Top of the Town raises money for CHH, which provides affordable housing for more than 1,700 people. CHH will break ground this fall on 12th Avenue Arts, its 45th affordable apartment building. Top of the Town tickets are $200. Guardian

Laurent

Guardian Real Estate Services, a Portland management, development and investment company, hired Christopher Laurent as senior vice president of acquisitions and development. His projects include redeveloping the Pabst Brewery in Milwaukee and turning a high school in Moline, Ill., into housing.

Realogics Sotheby's International Realty

Hill

Short

Nate Short and Vance Anthony Hill joined Realogics. Short ranks in the top 1 percent for sales among the more than 16,000 brokers in the Northwest Multiple Listing Service. He will operate The Short Group, which sells luxury homes, and is starting a new division to work on commercial property, land, lender notes and distressed properties. Hill moved to Seattle from Houston, and is principal of Seattle Luxury Group. He organized a “luxe” real estate symposium that attracted 300 luxury home brokers.

Urbis Partners

Jim Allison, formerly of Kinzer Real Estate Services, joined Urbis Partners in Seattle as a principal and leasing broker. Urbis handles leasing of 4 million square feet of commercial space. Allison previously worked with Urbis' Lisa Stewart and Cleita Harvey at Trammell Crow Co. At Kinzer he counseled Starbucks, Seattle Children's and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in site selection, leasing, financial structuring and portfolio management. He leased more than 300,000 square feet at 83 King/505 First Avenue on behalf of Starbucks, which led to the sale of that property for $125 million. He also did third-party leasing for Vulcan Real Estate's 60-acre South Lake Union portfolio.

Erdman Co.

Madison, Wis.-based Erdman, a health care planning, development and design-build company with an office in Kirkland, was acquired by Lubar & Co. Erdman was sold in connection with the sale of its parent, Cogdell Spencer, based in Charlotte, N.C., to Ventas, a REIT headquartered in Chicago.

Leisure Care

Seattle-based Leisure Care was hired to manage The Renaissance on Peachtree, a 15-story, 228-unit independent and assisted living community in Atlanta. This is Leisure Care's first retirement project in Georgia. The new owner is a joint venture between Formation Development Group of Atlanta and an affiliate of Washington, D.C.-based Carlyle Group. It plans to spend approximately $7 million to renovate interior spaces.

Andover/Corfac International

CoStar has designated The Andover Co./Corfac International a power broker and broker Brian Bruininks was named an individual power broker. The award is for sales and leasing.

Marcus & Millichap

Matthew Bohner of Marcus & Millichap's Seattle office represented Navos in the acquisition of a 15-unit apartment at 13213 Ambaum Blvd. S.W. in Burien. Navos provides care to people with mental illness and is building a mental health wellness center in Burien. Navos bought the 44-year-old property for about $1 million from Cedarstone Apartments Limited Liability Co., whose members are James and Carol Miller of Seattle.

CCIM lunch on REOs, receiverships
