Seven Hobbs has joined Unicorn Mortgage in Burien as a loan officer. He works with individuals looking to purchase or refinance investment property. Tanya Hunnell joined the company as a transaction coordinator.
Leslie Ota has joined Windermere Real Estate's Sand Point office as a sales associate. He was vice president of Bellevue Downtown Association.
Tom Parsons, senior vice president and general manager of Opus Northwest, will lead a panel of Opus colleagues who will analyze their company's projects at the 11:30 a.m. Nov. 10 CREW lunch at the Washington Athletic Club, 1325 Sixth Ave., Seattle. The Western Washington Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management will host its 20th-annual Forecast Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 1 at the Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue. Lynn Michaelis of Weyerhaeuser will give the keynote. Other speakers are Mike Scott of Dupre + Scott Apartment Advisors, Vanessa Herzog of GVA Kidder Mathews, Lisa Rowe of Bentall and Richard Muhlebach of Kennedy Wilson. Foster Pepper & Shefelman of Seattle added Taudd A. Hume to its Spokane office. Hume is an associate in the litigation practice, and focuses on land use planning and environmental law. Christopher S. Napier joined the Seattle office as an associate in the real estate practice. Napier was an associate with Preston Gates & Ellis in Seattle. New associates in Seattle are Kelly M. Angell, Mark S. Leen and C. Ryan Russell. Angell is in the municipal government practice, Leen does litigation and Russell focuses on business matters. Rosa Fruehling-Watson is a lawyer in the employment, labor and immigration practice.

Affiliate companies Coldwell Banker Bain in Seattle and Coldwell Banker Barbara Sue Seal Properties of Portland/Vancouver hired Suzanne Zinn Mueller as vice president of marketing, communications and brand management. She moved here from Illinois, where she was vice president general manager of Ryan Partnership's Chicago office.
Vulcan Inc. hired Chiles & Co. to manage its property at the south marina area of Lake Union in Seattle. The Seattle company will oversee 7.6 acres, including Chandler's Cove and the H.C. Henry Pier. The properties include 57,000 square feet of retail and office space, and 92 boat slips.
Seattle-based Security Properties has acquired another Bay Area apartment. Security paid $23.3 million for the 124-unit Diplomat in Mountain View, Calif. Security plans to renovate the property, which was built in 1969. The Diplomat is the company's fourth multi-family asset in the Bay Area. Managing Director of Acquisitions Lonnie Nadal says Security wants to buy more.
LSI Logic Corp., of Milpitas, Calif., retained Colliers International Advanced Technology Real Estate Group in Seattle to help with the sale of its semiconductor manufacturing plant in Gresham, Ore. Stephen Rothrock, executive director of the Colliers group, says the 1998 plant on an 80-acre site that is fully permitted for an expansion.
Walton Street Capital of Chicago chose Wright Runstad & Co. to manage and operate 1.2 million square feet in two Seattle properties it just bought: Metropolitan Park and Park Place. Lisa Stewart and Cleita Harvey of Urbis Partners were selected to lease the portfolio. Urbis will work with Wright Runstad for the first time, but Stewart previously provided the same services for two other Walton Street Capital properties in Seattle. For Wright Runstad, the assignment is a reunion of sorts with former principals of Chicago-based JMB Realty, who later formed Walton Street Capital. Wright Runstad and JMB partnered in development of Wells Fargo Center in Seattle. This assignment increases Wright Runstad's assets under management in Seattle to more than 4 million square feet.
Aboda CEO Brenda Handley is retiring and President Dave Caple will take over CEO responsibilities. Ralph Jones has been named executive vice president, and Steve Bredeweg is chief operations officer. Former Vice President of Operations Marilyn Fink has been named senior vice president. Gary Ciabotti is senior vice president of East Coast operations. The Redmond company is a corporate housing provider. Clients include Microsoft, Amazon and Boeing.
The Washington chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties named Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels and Bellevue Mayor Connie Marshall the 2005 Public Officials of the Year. They're being honored for fostering regional cooperation and leadership on transportation, density and economic development issues. They'll receive the award at NAIOP's Night of the Stars banquet Nov. 4 in Seattle.
