| Description: |
NewHolly, one of the first projects of its kind in the country, heralds the creation of an economically mixed public/private community. Redevelopment of the 120-acre SHA community creates a neighborhood where people of varying incomes live side by side. Integral to its success is the replacement of the infrastructure, undergrounding power and franchise utilities and design of a street grid system.
The project involves replacement of a 50-year-old infrastructure. The project demanded extensive coordination with all members of the design team, franchise utilities, multiple city departments, federal funding agencies and extensive political issues. SvR coordinated all right-of-way improvements from street vacation, planning subdivision, street design, permits through construction. | |
